My self-summary
I was born in GA and enjoyed living up and down the east coast growing up. I consider the DC area home, and my preferred location to live if it were just that easy. In my adult life I got the opportunity again to travel on the company dime and for about 7 years traveled around 25-35 weeks a year teaching technology classes around the US. There will always be places/countries that I want to travel to so if you're afraid of flying or think a vacation means going to the beach we won't get along. I've never been married, but I have a son who lives exclusively with me so you'll have to be okay with him. I'm good at my job, but prefer to spend as little time as necessary there. Time is better invested with my son and my close friends. I'm looking forward to my upcoming birthday in August by celebrating with my first skydive experience! I grew up playing soccer from a child through college and even enjoyed an adult league with some people at work. I think professional athletes are paid way too much and their complaints about not making enough money, claiming ignorance regarding things like "I didn't know concussions were bad for me" and the emphasis the media puts on them in good times and in bad is stupid. I'm a big fan of NCAA basketball and you'll find me rooting for the Duke Blue Devils from November to April.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm enjoying every day with my son. I know that it won't be cool to hang out with Dad forever. I love watching him go through the difficulties and rewards in life, every parent knows that's one of the many rewards. On the job/career side, I'm learning new things over the last 5 years as my company has changed names and been bought twice. While it's occassionally time consuming, it's afforded me the opportunity for many things so I think I'll keep it...
I’m really good at
Growing facial hair slowly. I haven't figured out what part of my daily life afforded me the ability not to have to shave on a daily basis until I was about 33 but I'm happy about it. I also drive really well - both slowly and fast. I got my DL in the DC suburbs which taught me a few things - 1.) When the light turns green if you don't hear someone honking you're not in a big city. 2.) If you're in the left lane you should be going at least 10mph over the posted limit. 3.) It's OKAY TO PASS A COP!!!! Jesus people!!! I'm good at getting my way, but in a fun way. I'm very good at finding things that left handed people are better at than right handed people and I'm good at being ambidextrous when it comes to hitting in baseball and kicking a soccer ball, but I'm not good at being ambidextrous when it comes to brushing my teeth but I can brush my hair with both hands. I'm not really good at explaining why that is...
The first things people usually notice about me
Such a generic and subjective question. There should be more of a situation presented here... notice about me when I'm bowling, or when I'm cutting the grass or eating? And who are these people that are staring at me? So what have I heard that people notice about me? Here are a few - That I'm left handed, that I have nice teeth/smile (thanks Dr. Miller!), that all my toes on my feet go in descending length from big piggy to little piggy like they should. I think people should notice the not so obvious things like the fact I will hold my drink in my left hand because I learned at a young age that you should be ready to shake hands at a party or social engagement and no one wants to shake a cold, wet hand. That I pour salt on my napkin where my drink is sitting so that the napkin doesn't stick to the drink every time I pick it up to drink (with my left hand). That I will wash my hands after looking at or not look at a menu since it's one of the nastiest things in a restaurant. I'll situate my knife in the grooves of my fork so it doesn't lay on a napkin and get it all messy. Is that weird? Maybe they didn't "notice" it about me, maybe they were wondering WTF I was doing...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The Outsiders, Count of Monte Cristo, The West Wing, The Big Bang Theory, Goonies, Friday (the movie), Scrubs, Jamie Pressly in anything and nothing, Tom Hanks ever since Bosom Buddies, Indiana Jones movies, Jason Bourne movies, Stand By Me, Forrest Gump, and the local news and NBC News so I know what's going on in the world! Song and bands - The Cars, Queen, DMB, Prince, James Taylor, The Police, The Kinks, The Cure, The Eagles and lots of things that I learned to love during road trips during my youth as we moved via car from place to place... Songs from the 70s and now reverse skate songs from the 80s are too numerous to name but I think my all time favorite song is probably "Escape" from Rupert Holmes. I'll leave books and food alone - they are polar opposites for me. If I'm not getting graded on it or paid for it you're probably not going to find me reading a book. Food on the other hand I like just about anything...

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why the hell this question is in any way important for you to know... If i'm spending a lot of time thinking about it, it's a problem that I should probably look in the back of the book to find the answer to and move on to the next question...
On a typical Friday night I am
Trying to get out of the house for adult activities, sitting around chatting with friends for a couple of hours before they head out for the night or taking it easy because my son has a soccer/flag football/basketball game on Saturday!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Isnt private and openly admitting something a mutually exclusive situation?

You should message me if
Anything you have read or seen here has interested you to learn more. You're a confident woman that looks equally as good in a baseball cap as you do in stilettos. You've bought a car with your own money, you've graduated college, you've lived on your own and paid your own bills. You have travelled and know something interesting about more than 5 of the United States. In essence I'm looking for someone who has lived life and gained knowledge (doesn't have to be useful knowledge) from their experiences. Keep your messages to yourself if you don't have a sense of humor or are good enough to convince me that you're funny and I'm just not smart enough to understand your jokes. If you don't have any friends, or a job, and your answering this from the basement of a relatives' house you need to stop reading and question your life choices.
