My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I try not to appear too serious to people. I mean, I certainly can be serious, but laughing and having fun are things that are important to me. Consequently, I like to surround myself with people who are funny or interesting in some way.

I love to walk or run in the rain provided it's not too cold, and sometimes even then (and also provided that my iPod is not getting wet!). I love the outdoors in general and love to go camping or hiking, but I don't get to do these things as often as I'd like.

My friends are especially important to me, and I am very loyal to them. At some point in my life I would like to drive a car in excess of 200mph (or 250mph, if I'm really lucky). And jump out of a plane. And explore the world.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Unravelling the mysteries of the universe while working on a PhD at Carleton. I study neutrinos, and work on an experiment which endeavours to measure their mass.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Math
Physics
Rubik's cubes
Breathing
Procrastinating
Sleeping in when I didn't intend to
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My headphones and my iPod; I rarely go anywhere without music
My feet moving while I pretend I can actually play double-kick
I'm usually pretty quiet (when meeting new people)
The extra-large coffee in my hand
The spike in my lower lip
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I don't usually have a lot of time to read anything unless it has words like quantum, mechanics, particle, or mathematics in the title. If I happen to not be reading something like that I may nerd out with a fantasy novel or some other fiction.

My favourite shows include: Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Metalocalypse, South Park, Modern Family, 30 Rock, Supernatural, Top Gear, Californication, Bones, Arrested Development, and... this list is actually quite long, so I'll just leave it there.

My taste in music is pretty diverse, from classical to death metal, but I'm usually listening to hard rock/metal. My favourite bands include:

Taproot, Scar Symmetry, Nevermore, Lamb of God, Breaking Benjamin, Chimaira, Sevendust, Slayer, Metallica, The Crooked Fiddle Band

Similarly, I have a broad taste in movies. I especially enjoy watching horror movies, and more specifically, zombie movies. I'm usually game for anything involving action, comedy, guns, cars, explosions, aliens, and exploding aliens. From time to time I may also enjoy a sappy movie.

I like food.

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Relaxing, i.e. watching TV or a movie, playing video games, or perhaps having drinks and conversation with friends. I try to spend at least one night a week not doing any work, and that night is usually Friday night.
