I grew up in tall trees and rugged mountains and although I enjoy the chaos, experiences and distractions of a bustling city, I am most at peace in nature. I love the ocean--it recharges my batteries and provides calm when I am troubled or stressed--enjoy scuba diving and snorkeling. I also just love walking on a beach, or better yet camped out beside one. The sound of the waves is soothing and in the white noise I hear ever-changing music.
I am full of creative energy and am a musician/multi-instrumentist and creative writer. I compose songs, score music for films and also have published two novels neither of which has made the best seller list yet and I haven't had a hit song yet either, but none of that discourages me. I am creative because it is a part of who I am, not for material reasons. Not that I would turn down the freedom that a little success would bring. For me money is only a means to take care of the necessities of life and enough of it would allow me to quit my day job giving me more freedom to be creative.
I am a non-conformist; I believe little of what is preached as the status quo. I look at the way things are, not the way I am told they are supposed to be. So I am political and very much a left of center progressive. I support free public education through all levels, universal health care and gay marriage. I do not believe the government or any church belongs in my bedroom or a woman's vagina. I beleive in the absolute seperation of church and state. I am poly, feel compersion, support alternative relationship styles and the liberation of female sexuality from male dominance. I do not see any act of sex between consenting adults as "sinful" and cannot believe that any higher power would care-a-less with whom or how many people we have sex with. I hate it when men who have lots of sexual partners are called studs while women who do the same are called sluts. It does not matter to me how many sexual partners a woman has had, that is irrelevant; experience usually makes people better lovers (not always, some people never get it just like some people never grow up). And anyone who doesn't practice safe sex these days is either stupid or plain suicidal. Play hard and play safe :)
I am like a cat, curious about everything and always willing to try something new. I listed myself as straight because there was no category for curious cats and I don't think I am bi and definitely am not gay. Labels are really meaningless, experts always want to put us all in little boxes. No, I have never had sex with a man, but yes I am curious what it might feel like. I think curiousity is healthy and normal. Perhaps someday I will find out or perhaps not; it is only an occasional fantasy. C'est la vie. I love women, everything about them. I think sex is a relative thing, while I acknowledge there is a difference between making love and casual sex, it is assumed that you can only make love with someone you love and only have casual sex with someone you barely know, but I disagree; sometimes you can just casually fuck someone you are madly in love with and make passionate love to someone you just met, it all depends on the circumstances and the moment. There are no rules or right or wrong way in sex or love. So I am very interested in all aspects of human sexuality; it is a fascinating and complex subject.
I am not an overly athletic person, but I do try to eat healthy and I practice Tai Chi and Kung Fu for discipline and to stay in shape.
Oh, and I am learning ballroom, Latin and swing dancing, but I've got a long ways to go before auditioning for Dancing with the Stars, but is is fun and I enjoy it.
I quit smoking 25 years ago and drinking alcohol about 2 years ago, but it doesn't bother me if other people indulge. I am not into drugs or the drug scene other than the occasional 420, strictly for medicinal of course!
