I'm a pretty easy going and laid back guy, who like most of us, is pretty tired of the bar scene for meeting people.

Currently, I work as a chef in the lower mainland. It's a career I find a lot of reward in. I love food! I love good food. That doesn't mean it needs to be fancy, though I won't turn away an amazing plate. I enjoy food that's made with care and respect for the ingredients. I also love to teach and mentor. It's an amazing feeling to be able to pass along knowledge and skill to a young cook and then see them take that, make it their own and use it to flourish in their role.
Outside of work, I've taken an interest in my own physical fitness. It was something I took for granted growing up as I was always very active in the realm of athletics. I guess fifteen some odd years playing hockey amongst other activities will do that to you. Now I realise the impact fitness has on the quality of my life and am loving the pursuit of that. I'm definitely not a gym nut. Instead I've found an outlet in martial arts. I'm not a UFC meat head (for lack of a better term) either though I do respect the skill and conditioning involved.
I enjoy traveling, though haven't done as much as I would like...yet. I have plans to go to Japan next year with my brother which will be incredibly exciting as I am half Japanese.

I'm good at listening to people. Friends will often use me as an objective sounding board. I may not always be able to give great advice back, but often just being able to vocalize concerns is a help into itself.
Did I mention I can cook?! ;)
I have a very rational and logical mind so concepts of that ilk often come easily to me.
I can canoe and I can camp, though my skills need some brushing up.
Also, crosswords and word jumbles.

At work, it's usually my eyes. I'm told my gaze can be quite intense. I'll admit, knowing this, I use it to my advantage as most people stay more focused and work harder when the chef is watching. ;)
I suppose the other thing people notice is my smile. A day without smiling is a waste of a day. There's always a silver lining. Sometimes it's just harder to find.

Movies: Love them though gore flicks and horror don't hold my interest. Intriguing characters or a well written story with clever cinematography suit me just fine.

Music: I'd go crazy without it. I listen to many different genres with varying degrees of appreciation.

How, why and what are often at the start of many of my thoughts.

Ideally unwinding from a work day. That may be watching a movie or out for a bevy or two with friends. Usually nothing too crazy as I often work on Saturdays.

Heights give me the shivers. Oh, and bugs though I will still deal with them if I am required to. Furthermore, despite my fear of them I have tried them on a culinary level.
