My self-summary
Raging Lefty; Like if Noam Chomsky and Gore Vidal had a gay love child, I would have popped out, only to disappoint both of my parents as I'm not gay and only kind of smart (or not smart, and only kind of gay). As a result of being both intellectual and leftist, I see a lot of injustice and suffering in the world. But instead of letting it get me down and moping about it, I use it as motivation to keep working hard to try to make the world a bit better. Plus, there are some pockets of beautiful humanity out there that balance out the not-so-beautiful. The light in the darkness, darkness in the light kind of thing. I find humor in the darkness though, and I have a pretty twisted sense of humor. I often laugh when I shouldn't.

I found Buddhism to be the logical extrapolation of my understanding of quantum mechanics. Logical consistency is something I value greatly. But I'm not wholly left-brained; I appreciate the arts more than most.

I will eat that entire cake if I think no one is watching.

School is my girlfriend, but we have a polyamorous relationship with Netflix

I volunteer when really I should be working, but I'm totally okay with being totally poor.

I think the "Personality" tab is inaccurate. Right now mine says I'm far less romantic, but I'm a flowers, candy, and a picnic date kind of guy.

If I could, I would rather ride my bike there.
What I’m doing with my life
Learning to do Social Work from the fine folks at FSU. I'm in undergrad right now, but I'm pretty sure I want to do my master's internship in a jail or prison.
I’m really good at
Taking a lot of words and compressing them down into single words. I don't do it to be pretentious, I just think being concise is more effective.

Film makers: David Lynch, Guy Ritchie, Christopher Nolan, Martin Scorcese, Coen brothers,

Loads of documentaries, like Planet Earth, Guns Germs and Steel,

Shows: Colbert/Stewart, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, Futurama, Home Movies (really anything with H Jon Benjamin), TED Talks,

Psychedelic/Prog rock, hip hop (not your radio/club crap-rap), classic rock, grunge, SOME wub-wub, blues, experimental, down-tempo, indie, but mostly NPR

Less abstract version:
Pens/Paper - I love writing and would never be caught dead without a notebook and some pens
My sister - is the best person I've ever known
Allergy meds - I'm allergic to anything with a proton
my car - Until I move someplace with plausible mass transit, I am beholden to my vehicle
sensory input - delicious foods, wonderful smells, a pleasant touch, intellectual stimulation; these are what make life worth living!
Abstract thought and logical extrapolation - there's some hard science out there that says my ability to think rationally and critically is a trait of liberal minds. I wouldn't want to be without my empathy.
