Yes ..... I have far too many interests. Thankfully most things hold my attention for at least a 90 second term before whim snatches it away again (or I start getting twitchy/glazed eyes/drool in the corner of my mouth etc)
What I’m doing with my life
I’m really good at
- trivia (I kick patootie on Arts and Humanities questions)
- being a jill of all trades (albeit, mistress of none)
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I don't listen to the radio much (when you hear tripe coming out on most networks, why bother?). I'd rather discover music through going to see a live act or word of mouth... or dabble to try creating some noise myself.
Lacuna Coil, Front 242, Amanda Palmer, Aphex Twin, PJ Harvey, Tool, Apocalyptica, Rollins and Nick Cave - PLUS their written works, Ladytron, Tom Waits, Ruby, Snog, Skinny Puppy, Billie Holliday, Curve, Alice in Chains, Vegas Kings and other Brisney-land bands, Soundgarden, Bjork, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Emiliana Torrini... floats my boat, but the list goes on... and on... and on (ad nauseum)
I'll happily watch non-Hollywood films and love foreign film or anime... some include: Amelie, Lost In Translation, Fifth Element, Cowboy Bebop, La Femme Nikita, Delicatessen, Labyrinth, Bladerunner, The Colour Purple, Rocky Horror, Princess Bride, Secretary, Nosferatu, Pedro Almodovar movies, The Dark Crystal, The Machinist, Astroboy, Existenz, Juno, Cabinet of Dr Caligari, Brotherhood of the Wolf, La Haine, Eastern Promises, Aeon Flux (cartoon), Lord of the Rings, Donnie Darko, Lemony Snicketts, Serenity, The Corpse Bride....
Food: I've never met a Pad Thai I haven't liked.. Japanese is also particularly spanky fare...
The six things I could never do without
- A Morning coffee fix that's the size of a bucket
- Music
- Books
- Sarcasm/dry sense of humour
- An open/inquiring mind (nothing wrong with embracing the inner nerd)
