My self-summary
I'm a rare breed, a native New Yorker, and in many ways that suits
me just fine! Like most New Yorkers, I have a sarcastic and funny
take on life, but when you get past the sarcasm, I've been told I'm
generous to a fault. While I love to have fun, I also enjoy being
able to talk about life's ups and downs with people.
I have a lot of energy, so I live a very active lifestyle. When I'm
not working, I make time to play
pool, (I'm also in a league) enjoy being
with friends, ride my bike, and take advantage of the best features
of New York life: great restaurants and theater.
I often enjoy trying to combine all my passions at once, so I sing
Gregorian chants in the nude while I put on puppet shows for my
friends. Okay, I'm only kidding...Just seeing if you were paying
attention :-)
EDITORS
What I'm doing with my life
I'm a teacher. I teach music and movement at an elementary school
in Queens. It's awesome! This year we're a brand new school and
only have grades PreK, K, and 1. So basically I get to sing, play
guitar, and dance with kids and get paid for it. I love it!
Latest story from the world of PreK (Cause there are soooo
many!):
Kevin, a 4-year-old, decided to watch me and his teacher while we
were eating. He said "Ms. Lianna, I like watching you eat. I've got
my eyes on YOU!!" Odd, is Kevin a serial killer in the making? Only
time will tell...
He also started saying "Jalepeno on a stick!!!" Apparently this is
from some comedy routine on HBO...I don't get the joke...
I'm really good at
I'm a trained singer and like to sing pretty much anything.
I'm also good at navigating the subway system and the streets of
New York and enjoy sharing the city I love with other people.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me
I think in conversation, people first notice my outgoing, sarcastic
side and then get to know me in other ways.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: I'm a big fan of Jodi Piccoult books, I love her writing.
Also just finished "Midwives" and "The Memory Keeper's
Daughter"
Movies: Big Lebowski, Simpsons, Best in Show, My Cousin Vinny, just
saw Borat and I actually fell on the floor laughing...good
times!
Music: Love Musical Theater...but I'll listen to pretty much
anything
Food: Ummm I'm a veggie so veggies...and chocolate
The six things I could never do without
1. Good friends
2. Music
3. Coffee
4. Nice, Sunny days (at least once in a while)
5. Fun things to do
6. Food and water...cause...yeah
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Whether I should write "theater" or "theatre..."
If coffee can be a tax write-off. I mean, I need it for work.....
On a typical Friday night I am
Playing pool or going out to dinner with friends
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here
Uhhh, interesting question.....Although I'm outgoing and social, I
really prefer quality time one on one.
You should message me if
You like to laugh, talk, enjoy the city, and want to meet someone
who cares.
