My self-summary
Who am I? I'm a pirate, a writer, and a wearer of hats.

....and I read anything and everything I get my hands upon, sometimes play computer games, and spend my days working towards my PhD. But I figured the hats bit was more important to describing who I am.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently one of those annoying students clogging up your streets. I've got undergrads in Science and Engineering that I haven't finished, a Honours in Maths which I have finished, and a PhD to keep me entertained now. What can I say, it keeps me out of trouble and off the streets. And my office has a nice view.

While that may all sound all serious and focussed, I've got no real idea of what I'm going to do with my life, though I do have a few plans. Even if Sky Pirate isn't yet a legitimate profession.

So what do I do with my time? Pose rhetorical questions, obviously, write jokes, keep my brain entertained and have good times while I'm at it. Any extra time is spent making cupcakes and biscuits (that I cant eat), for tea parties. Tea parties are so hot right now, they're, like, totally rad.

(I swear that I will never, ever use the phrase 'like, totally rad' in person)

Oh, and I play Bass badly.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm slightly on the tall side....apart from that, the blue eyes, or that I'm rocking the chrome dome, which is quite hard to miss, except when wearing one of the aforementioned hats.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read so much at the moment, it's a bit ridiculous. From the essays of Hitchens to the pure unadulterated joy of Terry Pratchett and everything in between. Some of my favourite authors at the moment have to be Roberto Bolano and K.J Parker, though I am, more often then not, happy just to be working my way through a good fantasy novel or trashy sci-fi.

Music wise, my likes are a bit of a mixed bag. If you like the Queens of the Stone age, I'll probably 5 star you straight away, but I also listen to the likes of Saul Williams, Mark Lanegan (Ol' Whiskeyvoice), UNKLE, DFA1979, the Deftones, Zero 7 and Sia.

Movies - Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Lock Stock, Donny Darko, Serenity, Layer Cake and ... so many others, but those are the ones I can think of at the moment. The list does change a lot though. Anything that comes from Studio Ghibli is an instant classic for me - Kiki's Delivery service and Porco Ross are amazing. As to tv - Sherlock is amazing.
The six things I could never do without
The continual amazement at how people struggle for 6 things on this. Thats one of my 6.

And probably the only one of the 6 that I could actually manage. Though books, music, and people to have silly conversations with would help me come close to filling out the 6.
On a typical Friday night I am
I don't know about a typical Friday night, but last Friday had a few friends and I turning a 10m tree on a vacant lot in along Midleborough Rd into a giant Christmas tree. We covered it with phosphorescent bottles, looked pretty good. Or tonight, when my sister and I turned her work schedule into a mini opera.

As you do.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I really, really cant dance. I mean, I managed to stub my toe on my hand while dancing. It's that bad!

Why not? :)

Especially if you're a sky pirate. Because that would be cool. Or can at least write a sky pirate. With a fancy hat no less. Because fancy hats are also cool.
