I am curious, optimistic, and active.

My Self-Summary

I love to explore. Buildings, art, whatever's around the next corner. I like to see what people have created and nature has floating around. Books, movies, food. I moved out to NY in late summer 2008 for a new job and am really enjoying everything about it. Love being outside, lukewarm about "the outdoors."

I spend too much time thinking about food; sometimes it's the fancy "how far can you take this cuisine," but it's just as often those great fiery chili cheese fries from the scary looking burger place or the dosa from the street cart.

I find passion nearly irresistible; tell me what excites you and we can probably talk about it for days.

What I’m doing with my life

Working my dream job; learning and living. Soaking it in. Having fun with friends. Dressing better than when I lived in Montana. Trying new experiences.

The first things people usually notice about me

My height. Sometimes in a crowded room, short people back up against me and think that I'm a wall or stone column until they realize that I'm fleshy and warm. Sometimes they get upset that a door won't close until they look up and realize that I'm holding it for them.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Recent good books that I've read: The Name of the Wind, Ghost Map, The Great Equations, most things by Glen Cook or Neil Gaiman. Currently reading Nixonland and the Drunkard's Walk.

Movies: Big Trouble in Little China, Love Actually, Starship Troopers, Speed Racer, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, Sneakers, Strictly Ballroom, To Catch a Thief, X-Men 2. Old School, Talladega Nights, Blues Brothers. Many, many more.

TV: Bones, South Park, whatever's on Bravo Wednesday night, Venture Brothers, Robot Chicken, 30 Rock, The Boondocks, No Reservations. Dr Who and BSG were quite lovely. Ninja Warrior and Mythbusters. Whatever good show I'm trying to catch up on but missed when out of the country or busy. I usually tape the show and watch it when I have time, maybe during breakfast or dinner.

Music: Pop, dance, musicals. Great tv/movie music (the soundtracks from Mononoke, Cowboy Bebop, and Utena are rarely far away). There's some soulful stuff too, for when the time is right.

Don't get me started on food.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

funny wordplay. The way that stories are told or presented. People's perceptions. Solving problems. Making life easier or better. How beautiful things are.

I guess if I had to summarize: The Details.

You should message me if

you would like to get to know me better.

Also, I don't have much time to give to people who just "wink" or put me on quickmatch. Send an email, I'm sure that you would expect the same from me.
