I once hiked down one side of the grand canyon and out the other. I really do love the outdoors, but I don't so much love the heat, so during the summers I catch up on the TV and Video games. I know video games aren't everyone's favorite thing, but look, I'm in software. Me not playing video games is like a wall street executive not snorting coke off of hooker's asses. I just wouldn't fit in.
I mentioned that I'm a "Former Marine". Sometimes people take issue with the "former" portion of that, and spew that sycophantic "Once a Marine always a Marine! KILL!" stuff. Well, what I mean is that I don't have to get in uniform anymore. I did enjoy my time in, I got to do some really cool stuff and meet some really cool people, but its in the past now and its time to be a civilian again. The hardest part of being a Marine? Fighting that huge monster with a sword after the flaming obstacle course.(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mplEt-7HNR8) Four down.
So that's me. I guess the only thing I didn't mention is this: My two favorite things are commitment and changing myself.
Movies: Moon, The Godfather(even better if you've read the book), RoboCop, Back to the Future, The Big Lebowski, Elite Squad 2, 13 Assassins, Life is Beautiful, the Good the Bad and the Ugly, Idiocracy and They Live.
TV: Breaking Bad(huge fan). I also like old Simpsons(pre season 9), Family Guy, South Park, Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Archer, and Arrested Development(I can't wait for the new episodes). At the moment I'm watching Mad Men, which is fantastic.
Music: The Smashing Pumpkins, Cake, the Meat Puppets, the Beatles, Johnny Cash, Offspring, Rage against the Machine, Soundgarden, Rage against the Garden, Radiohead, Joe Satriani, Beck, Willie Nelson, Led Zeppelin, and a huge amount of random classic rock. You know what? I'll probably like whatever you like just fine. Not all music is great, but I'm not so high and mighty about it that I'd shit all over whatever you're into.
Food: Sushi(unagi is my favorite), Salmon, Steak, Pizza, Chinese, Greek, Indian, and Milk Steak (if you're an its always sunny fan).
The Sky(I lived in the south for a few years, trust me, Arizona can be pretty amazing)
