My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
The quick & dirty:
- Grew up playing sports and I like to stay in shape. Exercise five or six times a week for all sorts of reasons (physical, mental, and now to maximize wave count)
- Lived and worked in Manhattan for fifteen years. Lower Manhatten is my home. Knew it when I was a kid in Long Island, knew when I later moved to MD, knew I would return at the first chance I got.
- Music is a big thing for me, everything from Armstrong and Ella to Sinatra, Allmans, Stones, and Zep, Beatles, Little Stevie to Stevie Ray, Sam Cooke, James Brown (The Godfather), The Cult, the Cars, Sex Pistols, Black Crowes, Blues Traveler, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Radiohead, Run DMC, Tribe Called Quest, JayZ, Phoenix, The Strokes, Spoon, Decemberists, Death Cab for Cutie, Blind Pilot, Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys, and a little Beethoven and Bach sometimes too. Cannot get enough of The Lone Bellow. See them live. Trust me.

- All the normal stuff... Family, friends, food, yadayadayada... OK I realize that's flippant, so I'll let you in on a fun fact - my family and friends are awesome. Seriously. Family gatherings entail multiple generations, tons of love and laughs, great food & drink, multi-instrument spontaneous jam sessions with multi-part vocals and in-the-pocket harmonies. And did I mention love and laughs? I never miss one if I can help it.

- I cook, often. Would be nice to enjoy that with someone sometimes.

- play a little guitar and can carry a tune (it's a genetic thing); bought a ukulele and am loving it

- I don't really have a type, just know it when I feel it, but I'm attracted to sporty, intelligent, classically graceful women with beautiful eyes and a great smile (yup, I know, who isn't?), and a hint of awkward can be captivating too
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Enjoying it at every opportunity.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing, but you wouldn't know it from this hack job. Public speaking. Vocals. Making people feel comfortable, accepted, and inspired. And kissing. Seriously, I'm a good kisser.

I wouldn't know, I don't ask. Maybe my eyes? Or my eyelashes (that used to drive me crazy as a kid)? As I get older, I suppose my youthful vibe.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Music, sunshine, sushi, family, friends, travel
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
These days, surfing. I picked it up late in 2012 in Costa Rica and have been chasing waves ever since. I surf every chance I get. I take as many trips to Costa Rica as I can (I've spent many months there now), CA when I get out there, and Montauk here on the east coast. I'm getting a lot better. I will surf for the rest of my life.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Could be anywhere, but if I'm in town it's usually enjoying a meal out and a few drinks with friends or family. I travel a bit sometimes for work, which often allows me to spend weekends around the country with friends, or just exploring. Would be nice to have someone who could join me.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

It kinda sucks being a 40-something divorced guy in Fairfield County. I've got the distance of years now to reflect, but I can't help feel at times like it's a freakin' scarlet letter. I can be the life of the party but, like everyone else, I succumb to loneliness sometimes. But ya gotta play those cards. Ya gotta surf those waves. Ya gotta remember there's always another set coming, unique, as yet unknown, and just maybe magical.

You have a fun and positive outlook, you love music, and are comfortable and confident in who you are. If you're currently going through a divorce, please give it some time, you need it.
