My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I grew up in Hebron and Bolton, with 59 people in my graduating class. I've traveled to 25 countries and 4 continents documenting topics as diverse as horseback riding in Israel to children receiving medical care in Cambodia. I'm lucky to be able to use my degree (to a certain extent) to serve. I'm creative, curious and love to learn. I enjoy interviewing and meeting people from all walks of life.

I think family is important and I have a close relationship with mine. My parents were married for 43 years, which seems rare nowadays.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Professional: ... I work in public relations.

I already have a Bachelor's, but I'm interested in teaching. I've tutored many people and I'm interested in improving literacy in eastern CT.

I've been volunteering my time for equine-assisted therapy for children and adults.

I drive to Bolton often to see close friends. I also like mini-road trips to Bigelow Hollow, Cape Cod or Brattleboro, Vermont. I miss Maine and would like to visit there soon. I lived in western Maine for 4 years.

Mentoring others...

One of my biggest passions is horses. I've admired horses all my life and finally bought Gold Rush, a Morgan, two years ago. I'm looking forward to eventually owning a barn. I'd love to embark on a week long ride with camping each night.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Compassion. Empathy. I'm a good listener and mentor. I'm a leader at work and I've worked with a lot of different people while serving in the Navy. I tend to be someone people go to for advice or when they seek insight.

Keeping people happy with my grin. Open-mindedness. Random thoughts and acts of kindness...optimism...

Being curious and open-minded to trying new things. I recently went to Whole Foods with a friend and a whole new world awaits! Speaking of cooking, I enjoy preparing Indian, Thai and Burmese curry dishes.

One of the most interesting books I've read recently was "The Hot Shoe Diaries" by Joe McNally, who I've seen in person in San Diego twice for seminars. It's about photography. I work in public relations and photography, so inspiration and knowledge help. :-)

Movies: A River Runs through It, Good Will Hunting, Contact, Buck, Like Water for Chocolate, The Black Stallion, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Mulholland Drive, Uncle Buck, Trains, Planes and Automobiles.

Music: Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, Of Monsters and Men, Arcade Fire, Eddie Vedder/Pearl Jam, Moby, U2, Billy Joel, The Slackers, Beirut, Billy Currington, Dwight Yoakam, Miles Davis, Hans Zimmer, Ella Fitzgerald.

Food: I love experimenting in the kitchen: Thai, Indian and Italian come to mind, but I also like making breakfast for supper some nights; there's something cozy about it...
