I'm usually smiling. I don't see the point in wasting life with negativity; I prefer to be an optimist. I believe in living each moment to the fullest, because the present is the only thing that really exists. I have a rather odd sense of humor, but occasionally am able to make other people laugh.

I've always been a nerd, or on the fringes of the societal norm. I grew up reading comic books, science fiction and fantasy, and watching Godzilla movies. These days, you're likely to find me frequenting the nearest renaissance festival or faire, because hey! Adults can dress up and play pretend too!

I don't lie, I don't cheat, and I can be brutally honest either in truth, or in play. It happens whether I want it to or not; it's just me. Despite being somewhat intelligent, some things just fly right over my head, so I'd have to include a bit of "ditzy" in the adjectives that describe me.

For fun, I like to hang out with friends and family. I prefer homes and coffee shop environments rather than clubs or bars. I like roller coasters and ren-faires, camping, nudist resorts, board and card games, and dark beer.

At larger social gatherings, I've found that I tend to flit from one small conversational group to another. Please don't try to make me sit down, or stay in one place for long; it's just not gonna happen.

I think the Dating Persona test is extremely accurate; I AM prone to sudden, ferocious crushes. If I'm affected by one, I'm intensely interested in that person for however long my crush lasts. In every aspect. Not to the point of being stalkerish, but I am prone to displays of physical affection...and I am always in search of mental stimulation. I find people fascinating, and I love getting to know them. I've had a lot of questions asked about this; am I just a crush and so forth. How can we know what the future holds without exploring the possibilities? I can say that once I'm committed, I'm committed to the end of the journey, and most of my relationships have been long term.

I work full time, and enjoy my job, but I enjoy my time away from work more. I spend time with my family and friends. I try to continue my education, for work and for my own personal satisfaction. I enjoy learning new things. I try to learn the lessons that life has to teach us all.

listening, laughing, smiling, kissing, getting along with just about anybody, unintentionally offending the thin-skinned, and putting my foot in my mouth. I'm also good at calming people down, writing research papers, and enjoying myself. I'm told that I'm good at getting people to open up to me.

Physically, that would be my smile, my eyes, and my chest. I've been told I have a calming, stabilizing presence as well.

My favorite hobby is reading science fiction and fantasy. Some of my favorite authors are Robert A. Heinlein, Anne McCaffrey, Mercedes Lackey, Laurell K. Hamilton, Charlaine Harris, Elizabeth Moon, Robert Silverberg, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Piers Anthony and David Eddings. I am a bookaholic. If someone tries to talk to me while I'm reading, I probably won't hear them. My latest guilty pleasure; urban fantasy. I've read far too much of that lately.

I love cheesy old B horror flicks, old Dr. Who episodes (especially with Tom Baker), and just about anything that has an element of the supernatural in it. Vampires, shapeshifters, psychic powers, I love them all. Murder mysteries are good...action films are meh, comedies (shrug), and your standard chick flicks get a frown. Yes, I do watch a chick flick on occasion...but given a choice between one of those and a vampire movie, the vampire will will every time. Recent discoveries: Claymore, and the NEW Doctor Who. Poor old Who.

I like '80's pop music, classic heavy metal, symphonic metal, classic rock, '50's rock, with a little punk and classical thrown in. I grew up with two brothers who play guitar, and I was frequently the ride to band practice, so music has played an important role in my life.

I like to dance, but don't get to do it very often.

My favorite foods are pickles, pizza, Mexican food, Chinese food, and the all time favorite; Nacho cheese Doritos with french onion dip. Hmm. Rotel cheese dip is pretty tasty, too.

I love dark beer, like Heineken Dark Lager...but I like a good Harp or Wild Blue as well. Most recently I tried a milk stout, and YUM...

Books. Music. Something to think about. The touch of another. Laughter. Stimulating conversation.

I hate it when people list "air" here. It's a pet peeve. I want to know what in life is important to you. What do you enjoy the most? What is necessary for you to be happy? We all need air, we all need water...what is it you, in particular, find necessary to your well being?

How to get through the latest tangle in the skein of life that fate has thrown at me, the nature of humanity, who I am, who I want to be, and who I want to be with.

What a shame it is that I didn't understand the power of cleavage until my mid thirties.

Most currently, I spend a lot of time thinking about how life experiences teach one to grow, if the lesson is learned, and how if the lesson is not learned, one stagnates. Cause and effect...what's going to happen if this choice is made vs. that one. There are so many possibilities. Which fork in the road is the best one to take?

relaxing at home, staying up late watching tv, knowing that I can sleep as late as I want to on Saturday morning. Or doing something completely impulsive, thinking to myself, "What the hell am I doing?"

I talk in my sleep...a LOT. Don't worry, I'm probably just killing zombies or battling the three furies. And sometimes, on a vacation day, I let the alarm clock go off, just so I can smile, turn it off and fall back into delicious sleep.

I eat cereal with water, because I'm allergic to milk. I love how that grosses people out.
