I am fiery, playful, and geeky.

My Self-Summary

I like to rock out at stoplights to make people smile. I love stupid puns and math limericks. I draw and paint. I pretend I'm a rock star in front of the mirror and lip synch to David Bowie songs from the early 70s. I absolutely freaking love to dance. My favorite book is One Hundred Years of Solitude, although Lolita is a close second. My poetry sucks. I can be easily seduced by a British and/or Irish (!) accent. Laughing kicks ass, so I do it a lot. Forgive the choppy style; I'm usually a better writer, but summarizing myself in a text box is a bit of a tall order, so I wrote the things that came to mind.

What I’m doing with my life

Being a college student. Singing jazz. Teaching science. Fairly standard. I'm having a rocking good time.

I’m really good at

Hugging, drawing, usually singing. Kicking ass at Magic: The Gathering (feh, I WISH I were so good...)

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm short. Very much so. You're forewarned.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

a) Lolita, One Hundred Years of Solitude, Mrs. Dalloway, To the Lighthouse.

b) Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Labyrinth (!!), Rushmore, A Fish Called Wanda, Bottle Rocket, Wet Hot American Summer.

c) David Bowie, Of Montreal, Ben Folds Five, Belle and Sebastian, Ella Fitzgerald, Elliott Smith, The Postal Service, Broken Social Scene, The White Stripes, The Ramones, The Cure, Jeff Buckley, T. Rex., Death Cab, Saturday Looks Good to Me, Billie Holliday, Mel Torme.

d) GOOD chicken fajitas (the onions and peppers have to be sauteed well and the tortillas should be homemade - none of this store-bought crap), kosher dill pickles, creme brulee, red tuna sashimi, pumpkin empanadas, matzo ball soup (my mommy's), saag paneer, blueberries. And butter cookies. And croissants. Mmmm butterthings.

The six things I could never do without

My voice (I passionately hate losing it annually), my hands (not being able to draw would be devastating)...Off the top of my head I can't think of too many material things that are that important to me. I'll update later.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

what I'm gonna be when I grow up. If the whole rock star business doesn't pan out (unthinkable), I'm thinking child advocacy lawyer. Or really, I'd love to be the host of a children's public television show.

Oh, and how I'm going to murder both Spongebob Squarepants and Elmo in their sleep. The grand regime of Cookie and Oscar shall rise and rise!

On a typical Friday night I am

Doing something extroverted, with people. People are pretty sweet.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

This isn't terribly private, but it's embarrassing: I used to write awful fanfiction when I was thirteen, based on the movie Labyrinth. And no, I won't let you read it.
