I really am bad at these things but would say if you cannot figure
out by the rest if you're interested then nothing I put here really
matters right? Just a fun loving, down to earth, kind of girl who
loves to keep an open mind. I like to argue, but only if its
intellectually or constructively oriented. Very interested in
meeting new friends to share perspectives.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently just working most of the time as a Night Auditor for a
local hotel in Downtown and trying to get a degree in accounting. I
am looking to make a few new friends and see is there is anyone out
there that's as quirky yet rational as I am.
I’m really good at
I am really good at Math, English, and Sarcasm. I am really bad at
filling these kind of things out though. I am great at empathy and
being a good friend and ear whenever one is needed; usually even if
I don't really know you. I am, and was always, good at the
technical aspects of school but I have a passion for the arts;
which is probably why I am so bad at them. I'm good with games and
trivia, or a simple conversation, and i can cook poultry rather
The first things people usually notice about me
The very first is how tall I am. Second is usually how much I talk
and from there it either develops into how nice I can be or how
abrasive I can be. Which ever happens in the beginning the real me
is somewhere in the middle. I am a very sweet girl at heart, very
loyal and protective, while also being fun and goofy. As people get
to know me more the geeky/nerdy and the decidedly more interesting
aspects of my personality start to surface as I become more
comfortable with you. Which in my opinion is definitely worth a
little bit of patience.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
This one is actually hard for me because I like so many things and
am open to trying new stuff all the time; so it really does depend
on my mood. Here we go anyway, be prepared for a long one!
Books: I love Victorian Literature, Dickens, Bronte, Austen I have
all their collected works. Modern classics, Clockwork Orange, House
of Spirits, Brave New World and 1984 both. I have a weakness for
fluffy stuff as well; Grisham novels and Sci-Fi stuff when I need
to take my mind away. If I am interested in something or someone I
like biographies and was one of those kids that actually liked
reading their text books (I'm a bit of a nerd).
Movies: A little of everything really. I like Foreign films as long
as there are subtitles, I don't speak any other language that well.
Classics, I mean 30's-50's older the better, I grew up with old
movie nights with my mom. I like musicals, especially if I know the
lyrics! You just might catch me singing along if I've seen it
before. I really love movies that make you think, Brazil, Fight
Club, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, classic Hitchcock or
inspired. I do like action and comedy but my favorite genre is
drama. I will see any movie at least once as long as it isn't a
horror/gore flick. If there is a psychological component I will
still watch it, be prepared for fright though.
Music: I love almost everything. I can listen to single instrument
classics, to Country, to Rock ( in all its forms), to modern and
indie, to things that aren't even in English. If it's got a good
rhythm and I can feel the music I will love it.
Making food: I love to bake even if I don't really eat sweet things
myself. Dessert, pizza from scratch, breads, any thing in the oven.
I have also gotten very good at making Chicken on a stove top,
complete with all the 'fixins.'
Eating Food: I love sushi and Mexican, both traditional and the
quick taco shop kind. I grew up on traditional Southern and Midwest
American so that always feels like home. I like experimenting and
trying new things. The only thing I really don't like are mushrooms
and olives, anything else gets at least a bite, except shellfish,
I'm allergic to it.
The six things I could never do without
1) Something to read. Be it a great classic or a cheesy web comic
something that none the less will stimulate my mind in new or
pleasantly familiar ways.
2) Music, whether its me singing (kind of badly) or just listening
to the neighbors trying to play some octaves its all
soothing/pumping/exciting in its own way
3) Good friends
4) A creative outlet, no matter how bad I really am at it. Everyone
needs an outlet of some kind.
5) Cooking. I LOVE to bake and really do like to experiment a
little in the kitchen. I do a really good pan seared chicken
6) A purpose. Be it to my day, job, or life I believe we all need a
purpose/focus or we are just adrift. This does NOT mean i don't
know how to have fun though, it's more long term ^_^
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What to do on my days off and finding the right career path.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually at work right now sadly enough. I work an overnight shift
but that will hopefully be changing soon and I can be back out
there going to the movies, dancing, or just hanging out with some
of my close friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Well if I admitted it in public it wouldn't be private anymore
You should message me if
You'd like to, or even slightly feel like it. I really do enjoy
meeting new people.
