I am random, honest, and eclectic.
My Self-Summary
I enjoy
watching
movies---action/adventure like the Bourne films or ones told
from multiple viewpoints or that provide different scenarios (like
Vantage Point or Run, Lola, Run). I tend to use a lot of
exclamation points when I write---but not necessarily when I speak.
I don't hog the covers. I may snore. I love to
travel, especially abroad, and to
become a part of the rhythm of life where I am staying. I'm a
"middling" walker--somewhere between a stroll and a racewalk. I
don't sing in the shower but I might
sing otherwise if the situation seems to
warrant it. I'm
liberal when it comes to religion and
politics. I like to wear scarves. I have a quirky sense of humor. I
enjoy a long conversation over dinner, the thrill of a roller
coaster ride, and sharing a laugh. I read a lot of novels and enjoy
the ones that weave a bit of personal philosophy into the story. I
believe in
magic. I
like
mysteries.

What I’m doing with my life
reading, thinking, watching, listening, talking, sharing...
I’m really good at
reading, writing letters, watching movies, baking cookies, being
loyal, traveling, making my coworker laugh, procrastinating.
The first things people usually notice about me
my blue eyes.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books--A Ring of Endless Light by Madeleine L'Engle (plus most any
other book by her), Greensleeves by Eloise Jarvis McGraw, books by
female mystery writers like Marcia Muller and Sara Paretsky,
authors Robert Parker, Dean Koontz...
Movies--Love Actually, the Bourne movies, Être et Avoir, Once,
Michael Clayton, The Station Agent, Vantage Point, Slumdog
Millionaire, (and lots of others!)
Music--Loreena McKennitt, Sarah McLachlan, Santana, Dave Matthews
Band, Coldplay, The Calling, Lifehouse, Jon McLaughlin, Flogging
Molly, Nickel Creek, Garou, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Florent Pagny,
Patrick Fiori, Bruno Pelletier, Paul Piché (French/French-Canadian
pop, classic rock, new age, some jazz but not vocal jazz)
Food--raspberries, chicken, bread, pasta, dark chocolate
The six things I could never do without
my family (kids, siblings)
my friends (And, yes, I know people aren't "things" but they're
important in my life.)

some time alone to read and think
I spend a lot of time thinking about
who will "stand by me,"
where I want to travel,
what I want to do next.
On a typical Friday night I am
at home reading, watching TV, surfing the Net, or sharing food and
conversation with friends or family.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm an introvert. That doesn't mean I'm shy. I can talk to almost
anyone, and probably will. But I like to have some time alone to
re-energize. When I read job descriptions asking for someone
"dynamic and outgoing," I know they don't want me. I'm low-key, but
I get the job done.
You should message me if
you have a yen for amazing chocolate chip cookies, enjoy
interesting conversation, tend to be liberal in religion and
politics, are tired of doing things alone, or are looking for a new
friend.
