My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Honest, analytical, overthinking, kind, and lackadaisical. I'm an academic and love science, but never want to lose touch with the real world. Love: I can't tell you what it is, but life is empty without it.

I'm extremely interested in other places/cultures/languages. A personal dream of mine is to truly be fluent in a second language.

I love to dance whenever I get the opportunity, and I never buy greeting cards that have any writing inside of them.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Career: I just finished my Ph.D in California, and am starting a postdoc at UMD in the department of Linguistics. I study the cognitive neuroscience of language, in particular, the relationship between linguistic structure and the brain. What I love about the field is that it's the intersection of several fascinating domains: linguistics, philosophy, biology, and psychology, among others. I live to learn.

More stuff: I'm trying to increase my involvement in social activism, which currently consists of raising awareness about global warming, helping out with the union on campus, and writing the occasional article about social issues. Above everything, I am trying to develop and expand my relationships with family and friends.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The most private thing I'm willing to admit ONLINE is that I once crashed my bike and ruptured, well, my balls. Only a superficial scratch (3 stitches), but the most hair-raising experience of my life.
