My self-summary
I'm an optimist who loves video games, science, learning, interesting stories, intelligent conversations and being challenged mentally (not mentally challenged!). As an introvert, I consider myself the lone wolf type, but it's never a chore for me to spend time with someone special.

Politically I'm unapologetically liberal. I'm also an atheist, and although I have strong opinions on some subjects, I always have an open mind and am not afraid to admit when I'm wrong.

I was born in North Carolina, but spent most of my youth in Green Bay, Wisconsin before moving to Nashville. People sometimes ask me if I'm a Packers fan. "Fan" is probably too strong a word, especially since I don't follow football much, but they are my team by default. :)

Regarding relationships, I value communication above all. We should feel like we can be open and honest with one another. That doesn't mean we have to share every detail of our lives with each other if we don't want to. Living individual lives is fine. But I do think that if the relationship is serious, we should feel comfortable talking to each other about important things.
What I’m doing with my life
My biggest passion has always been video game development. I've worked as a professional game developer for several years, with my current focus being on the company that I co-own, producing digital books and games. I love games of all kinds, and love creating them even more.

If I weren't a game developer, I would most likely be a physicist. The idea of searching for an understanding of the universe at a fundamental level really intrigues me. Film production comes in at a close third place.

Eventually I'd love to travel the world with someone special, staying at least one night in every country and recording the entire trip with videos and pictures. Yes, even North Korea and Antarctica! Maybe those could be saved for the climactic finish...
I’m really good at
Computer programming is my profession and hobby. I enjoy doing it (shock to some people, I know), but it fits well with my problem solving abilities and analytical nature.

I'm also good at remaining cool-headed during any type of argument or debate. Looking at the facts, removing bias, and trying to find an outcome that works for everyone is something I've found I can do relatively well.

Besides that boring stuff, it seems that I have a knack for creating corny jokes. Like slap-your-forehead, groan-and-roll-your-eyes, head-shakingly corny jokes. But you're just going to have to message me if you want me to prove it!
The first things people usually notice about me
I prefer to observe, rather than jump into things head first. So that combined with my introversion means I tend to come off as very quiet or aloof. Sometimes this leads people to think that I am uncaring, but that's really not the case.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Video Games: There are WAY too many games to list, but included in my favorites are: Final Fantasy series, Portal, Fallout series, Elder Scrolls series, Diablo series.

Books: Dragonlance series, Xanth series, The God Delusion, Letter to a Christian Nation, Greatest Show on Earth.

Movies: The Matrix, Inception, Back to the Future, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Jurassic Park. Tons more.

TV: Breaking Bad, House of Cards, The Big Bang Theory, Community, 30 Rock, Arrested Development, Modern Family, The Office, Lost, House, Survivor, Big Brother.

Music: I know this is super cliche, but it really depends on the song. Genres aren't as important to me as individual songs are. But as far as bands go, I really like Breaking Benjamin, Disturbed, Three Days Grace, Flyleaf, The Offspring, Godsmack, Michael Jackson, Kelly Clarkson, Lorde, Maroon 5.
The six things I could never do without
1. My family
2. Games
3. The Internet
4. The scientific method
5. Ambition/The desire to better oneself
6. Numbered lists
I spend a lot of time thinking about
New ideas for video games; what I would do in a zombie apocalypse; how I would build the labyrinth under my mansion if I got rich... you know, normal stuff.

Oh, and the dull adult stuff, like how to structure my future, and what I can do to complete my goals in life.
On a typical Friday night I am
Looking for adventures, at home playing or creating a game, watching TV or a movie, browsing the interweb, or battling my ferocious monster (also known as playing with my cat) -- and no, that's not a euphemism!

Also, in case this wasn't obvious, my missions as a secret agent tend to be on Friday nights, so if you message me and don't get a reply for a couple of days, it was probably because I was sneaking into a baddie's house or flying a plane with one finger or being tortured or something. But don't worry! I will get back to you as soon as I'm finished cutting holes in things with watch-lasers.
You should message me if
Message me if you know the pattern for solving a Rubik's Cube. I've heard that there is one, but I haven't looked it up because I'm waiting for you, dear reader, to come along and inform me. So you should feel special! :)

I'm also happy to talk about what we have in common, argue about what we don't have in common, or just goof around getting to know each other. Intelligence and a good sense of humor are huge bonuses!

You can expect at least one reply from me, even if it's just to politely tell you that I'm not interested.
