Opera singer and English teacher by profession.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Studying philology (majoring in English); learning Spanish and Italian on the side.

Building up a life I can be proud to say I made for myself.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Does an accent count? I get asked quite a lot if I'm American. It's all in the pronunciation, baby.

Also, I've gotten into découpage lately and I think I'm not too bad. Sure, it's a girly hobby but after a long day at work it really helps calm the nerves.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Is your hair naturally curly like that?!
- Yes, yes it is.
Followed by a pat on the head, testing out just how soft the curls are. :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
The works of:
- J. Austen
- E. Hemingway
- C. Bukowski

But a good book on psychology also gets the brain cells working.

Alan Watts. Enough said.

When it comes to movies a period drama makes my day!
Recent favorites - Pride and Prejudice, The Goodbye Girl, A dangerous method, Never let me go, Blue is the warmest color, The Hours, About time, Her, Adam, Lolita, Limitless, Life of Pi, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Big Fish, Wall-e, Love actually, Finding Nemo, Spirited Away, A Single Man, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof...
Comedy - Ricky Gervais (LOVE The Ricky Gervais Show), Eddie Izzard, Robin Williams (especially Weapons Of Self Destruction)
Shows - Californication, New Girl, Scrubs

Since I was raised on classical music that's what my taste revolves around, rich sounds. Something like Gipsy kings also does the trick, and I can't resist singing along to Russian and Bulgarian folk songs.
More main stream stuff that gets me worked up in the morning - Clean Bandit, The Staves, Koop, Mika, Paloma Faith, Hudson Taylor (these guys are amazing!), Kimbra, Roisin Murphy ...

Not picky when it comes to food, but I like it spicy and with lots of veggies.
Gotta be honest here, I prefer a man who can make a pepperoni fear him!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My singing voice
(and my sonic screwdriver - bonus points right here)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
- How great it would be to get lost in nature.
- What's my next travel destination?
- How and why does the human brain work this way?
- Do you ask too much if respecting someone's time is implied?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If I'm not working then taking a walk or attending a concert.

Sometimes i visiting the cinematheque. Much better than the mainstream crowded movie theater.

Or out dancing the night away!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If all you write is "hi" don't expect a reply.
Punctuation is a must and a well formed sentence gets you a long way.

If you're up for a nice chat and want to get to know an artsy person, don't hesitate. :)

Also, any philology fans, please feel free to introduce a topic of discussion.

Or if you're up for improving your language skills I'm more than happy to take on the challenge!
