My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My name is Katy.

I'm a shamelessly introverted, infectiously passionate, freakishly intuitive, totally illogical, stubborn, hyperbolic, artsy, creative spirit who assumes zebras when I hear hoofbeats and prefer my martinis dirty, my music loud, and my hair dyed pink.

"My brain wants nothing to do with reason. It never has. If I was told to vacate my apartment by next week, I wouldn’t ask around or consult the real estate listings. Instead, I’d just imagine myself living in a moated sugar-cube castle, floating from room to room on a king-size magic carpet."

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a freelance choreographer/performer and just graduated with my BFA in Dance from ASU - it has been a long time coming and I couldn't be happier!!!! So now, my life is ready for a big change, and I want someone to navigate the chaos with.

I just finished work on two musicals this summer, and am looking for more opportunities to choreograph and perform. Onstage or in a rehearsal is where I'm happiest.

When I’m not running around to my various artistic endeavors or searching for a pesky day job to supplement my freelance work, my days are spent daydreaming about dancing burlesque and playing roller derby, sleeping too much, doing crossword puzzles to keep me awake, posting pretty pictures on my Tumblr, constantly searching for a parking space, running at least ten minutes late (probably because I couldn’t find a parking space), losing myself in a book, watching way too much streaming Netflix, recovering from vivid nightmares, listening to NPR, and doing impressions of Julia Child and Katharine Hepburn.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am, to my core, a natural performer...I dance, choreograph, sing, and act with my entire self.
I have a keen ear for foreign languages, dialects, and voices.
I'm fantastic on skates, whether it be ice, inline, or roller--I'm a former figure skater and aspiring roller derby girl.
I have a freakishly good/semi-photographic memory.
And I'm really, really, really good at getting lost even if I have GPS to help me!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes, vivid facial expressions, and ridiculously huge smile.

A LOT. But since you asked...

My number one favorite is AMÉLIE, and always will be.
My favorite film foundation is made up of...
Disney happily-ever-afters
Tarantino femme fatales
Hitchcockian suspense
John Waters’ inimitable brand of filth
Wes Anderson's attention to detail
and Baz Luhrmann alternate realities.
Other essential viewing includes All About Eve, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Hours, Pleasantville, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Secretary, Ghost World, Jurassic Park, Moonstruck, Serenity, and Suspiria. Movie nights are my favorite nights.

Gilmore Girls, Parks and Recreation, Twin Peaks, Sherlock, House of Cards, Downton Abbey, The Walking Dead, New Girl, Bones, Lie to Me, Mad Men, Grey's Anatomy (before it jumped the shark), Scrubs, How I Met Your Mother, The Office, The West Wing, Absolutely Fabulous, Doctor Who, Firefly, Sex and the City, True Blood. I also kick ass at Jeopardy.

Musicals, movie soundtracks, idiosyncratic love songs, hip hop, Irish music, jazz singers, swing, ska, classical, bluegrass, opera, classic rock, mash-up remixes, a cappella, guilty pleasure pop songs, really good cover songs, and old-timey novelty songs with silly and/or dirty titles. Random artist sampling includes The Decemberists, The Chieftains, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Flogging Molly, Ella Fitzgerald, Regina Spektor, Amanda Palmer, Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, Martha Wainwright, Janelle Monae, Die Antwoord, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Rufus Wainwright, Indigo Girls, Ani Difranco, Adele, Beyonce, Patsy Cline, Yann Tiersen, Save Ferris, JD McPherson, Clairy Browne & the Bangin' Rackettes. And ABBA! If you're lucky, I'll make you one of my world famous mix CDs.

Francesca Lia Block's neo-fairy tales. Ingrid and Astrid in oleander time. Gals who are just MAD about “dolls”. The tiniest of details documented by Susan Orlean. David Sedaris reading out loud. Gillian Flynn's pantheon of violent women. All things YA-YA! and Traveling Pants. Banter between Crowley and Aziraphale. Dan Brown's comically melodramatic cliffhangers. Training circus elephants in Polish. Lyra reading the Alethiometer. Sylvia Plath's views on life (and death). Everything Shakespeare.

"Why would anybody ever eat anything besides breakfast food??"
"People are idiots, Leslie."

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My beautiful black cat, Ragnar. He is my animal sidekick and feline soulmate.
2. Choreographing and performing.
3. Friends and family.
4. Writing.
5. My iPod.
6. Alone time to recharge.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What Ragnar does at home while I'm out and about.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Singing my face off at karaoke, seeing a show, or having a staring contest with my cat.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'll give you a hint: I'm not "vanilla."

And in a totally different vein, it's a lifelong dream of mine to be in an ABBA cover band.
I’m looking for
  • Guys and girls who like bi girls
  • Ages 27–40
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're a trustworthy person, you have your shit together, you're easy to talk to, and LIVE LOCALLY.

Please note: I need someone looking for an actual relationship, plz - I'm NOT interested in casual sex. Also, I'm not outdoorsy or religious (spiritual, but not religious), so if you like to vigorously hike the Stations of the Cross and whatnot, I miiiight not be your girl.

Oh yes, and I'm dying to go to swing dance night at The Duce, so swing dancers who are strong leads are a plus! Totally random, but I'm throwing it out there anyway.
