My self-summary
Work hard and play hard. Hard working, professional, outgoing and fun with no children, alimony, or crazy ex's. Committed friend of the environment and big fan of southern California and our wonderful lifestyle. Very active, love to travel, and always up for great conversation. I was given a nice compliment recently: that I was one of the most optimistic people that person had ever met. Well, I am generally smiling and I can be ... well .. sort of a goofball every once in a while. If you don't like to laugh, I probably won't be your type.

A pleasant thought: Been traveling a lot lately: SF 2 weeks ago, San Jose last week, Vegas this weekend, LA next week. It never fails to amaze me how many great places we can reach within an hour. What a great place to live!
What I’m doing with my life
I run a department at an investment bank. Ewwww one of those investment banking types... yes, yes I know. At an early age, however, I realized that the path to wealth - outside of inheritance - was the result of either being super athletic, being able to dance or sing superbly in front of an audience, the field of medicine, or ... Wall Street. And I don't like being poor, so...

Plus, I get to work with really awesome, driven entrepreneurs... people who admire Steve Jobs, for example. I guess I like to be engaged physically and intellectually.
I’m really good at
Listening, observation and analysis... probably as a result of interviewing CEOs and CFOs for years. I haven't had to make a call on someone as slippery as Madoff, but I have plenty of stories that would raise most eyebrows. For example, I was the last analyst to meet with a certain CEO of an airline that shall remain nameless before the CEO fled the country with $50 million and disappeared!

Being active.
Reading.
Debating.
I can rock the elliptical like no one else I know.
And I'm pretty fun.. :-)
The first things people usually notice about me
Height, smile (I'm pretty religious about brushing my teeth and flossing), sarcasm... my laugh. I'm likely to be one of the most optimistic people you've ever met. And perhaps one of the happiest. (I worked hard to get here... and still do.)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Too many to name but I'll name a few. Closet nerd and you can see it in my list of favorite authors, which include Robert Jordan (RIP), Brandon Sanderson, J.R.R. Tolkien. Series I have loved include Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Favorite one book is Atlas Shrugged.
The six things I could never do without
The obvious and oft mentioned: family, friends, food, water, air, phone, tablet, sex.... not in any particular order.

Music... I love music and something is usually playing in my office or home.

The ocean... Sunsets, walks, water sports, the view, the breeze....

The sun... ah, southern California...

The gym
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My job provides me the opportunity to interview people at very early stages in their companies' development. Consequently, I see technology and other products five to ten years prior to their widespread availability. That is one of the more fascinating aspects of my job. It feeds my desire to be more entrepreneurial. In answer to the question, therefore, I spend quite a bit of time these days considering my next entrepreneurial venture. Outside of that, I travel frequently and would like to visit as many countries as possible. I have been to most countries in Europe and Latin America. I have not been to Asia which is a real shame as I studied Japanese for six months in college.
On a typical Friday night I am
Checking out a new restaurant, at a lounge or club, or at home watching a movie... or the Lakers (sigh).

I have many promoter friends in L.A. so I'm up there often. It would be great to have more nightlife in the OC. Who wants to help me bring Nikki's to the OC? Contact me. I'm serious!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm an open book, generally. Well, let me classify that. My business requires me to be very cognizant of what is insider information, meaning I can be very discreet. I don't want to be the next wall st guy doing the perp walk or sharing a jail cell with Bernie Madoff. Outside of work, however, I will generally answer any question.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 21–37

I'm still fairly new to the OC but I'm loving it. (I've lived in NY, SF, south Bay Area, LA, Manhattan Beach, too.)

I'm open to meeting fun people, especially for happy hours, taco Tuesdays or good conversations over wine. I'm an active networker so I am fairly good at keeping things low key. We can take it from there.
