My self-summary
Away with your weapons, I mean you no harm! (brownie points if you're nerdy enough to know where that comes from)

I'm a very chill, if somewhat unusual, guy. It's been a few years since college graduation (don't remind me just how many), but I still love learning. That's led to fixing Apple laptops in a failed bid to get rich and decorating my parents' house with Christmas lights that dance to music. There's just something satisfying to the whole process.

Like many of us, I absolutely lurve music. I can't get enough karaoke. Friends tell me I sing with a mean British/Bob Marley accent. Comes in handy for Rush songs: "Today's Tom Sawyer he gets on high on you." Back in school I played clarinet and learned to read music. I bought an electric guitar and an amp in college so I could pretend that I'd teach myself. One of these days I'll be rich and awesome... if I practiced more than once a year.

I'm a lifelong New York mets and Giants fan. Even when they're awful, ya gotta believe. Case in point, I was still rooting this year despite letting Jose Reyes go, even before they started winning.

Had a cat that thought it was human as a kid, but I can't have a pet now. I would totally love to adopt again when my housing situation improves. I was thinking a greyhound and another cat.

A human being cannot truly be described in just a few paragraphs, so please message me. Don't be shy, I don't bite... well not that hard ;)

What I’m doing with my life
I've been working as a reporter with a chain of weekly papers up in the Town of Huntington for six years. When I'm not covering car accidents, stupid people being arrested, people doing awesome things, high school sports and many other terribly interesting things, you can find me in the Village of Northport. I also crack the whip over our interns.

For the time being my future is still in print journalism, although I still haven't ruled out IT or something else. Who knows, maybe I'll end up in a tech magazine or negotiating between cops and hostages?

I’m really good at
Ugh... why do you insist I brag about myself OKC?
I guess I'm pretty good at listening; it is what I do for a living. I'm also mildly awesome at brewing beer, writing, photography, playing poker and fixing computers. Once upon a time I played music too.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A. I'm a sucker for Michael Crichton novels, especially "Airframe", "Prey" and "Rising Sun." I also enjoyed Bram Stoker's "Dracula", George Carlin's "Napalm and Silly Putty" and "Why We Suck" by Denis Leary. I recently finished Crime and Punishment; not such a big fan.

B. Blazing Saddles, Full Metal Jacket and The Godfather are high on my list, although I enjoy the likes of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. An aside, Family Guy is overrated and can't hold a candle to Futurama or South Park.

C. My iPod generally has a collection of: classic rock, rock, metal, Gothenburg metal, jazz and Jimmy Buffet. My full-time list includes Rush, Iron Maiden, Blind Guardian, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Dream Theater and Dragonforce. I do not care for The Beatles as they ripped off 1940s and 1950s American musicians. Also, I just don't like most of their sound.

D. I love spicy food. I'm a little picky about some of it, i.e. no buffalo or BBQ sauce due to taste, but raw heat is my bitch! Thai food is absolutely delicious!

The six things I could never do without
1. The Truth 2. Family/friends 3. Computer/Internet (I used to go through withdrawal when the net went down, but I'm getting better) 4. Music since it melts away stress, promotes creativity and silences background noise 5. Super, ultra, mega hot sauce 6. A pen (I am a reporter after all)

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Anything and everything, at any time, just like everyone else.

Seriously, it's astounding how everyone thinks they're unique in how they actually ponder mysteries about life and the universe, or at least what's going on with them... But yeah, I do a lot of thinking.
