You're probably more on the Old School/"Old Soul" side and very easygoing (ie: extremely low maintenance). Having lived abroad for six years, I generally do better with foreigners or out-of-towners (ie: another state or interesting accent or backstory). I've also realized that if I had to pick ideal occupations for those I do well with, it would be a veterinarian, a teacher, or a graphic designer - go figure.
I work hard, write hard, enjoy long walks with my dog in Prospect Park to decompress. He's a Pomeranian, so he's a bit yippy - if that's an issue or you don't love dogs, we won't work.
I go to theater all the time - (literally twice a month on average), dinner, museums, and a glass of wine, a piano bar, concert, sporting event or catch a flick sometimes; very content to order in, relax and watch some Netflix. The dancing, barhopping, staying out late/club days are long behind me. Once or twice a season when my friends come in from LA, I'll hit the Meatpacking District to make their evening. That's about it.
I'm a former amateur athlete, so my knees/joints don't permit me to ski, snowboard, mountain climb, play tennis, marathon, triathlon or do Xtreme sports, so can't be your partner in that area, but happy to cheer you on and support you. That being said, I can hold your hand, walk with you and hold a great conversation and make you laugh. Only realized how important the laughing part was as I got older and wiser. I'm super down-to-Earth + you are too (this is probably more important than any other quality you have to me). Less is more. Just looking for that real connection to share with someone who's looking for similar. We all have faults and flaws. It's being able to look past all that and not judging that makes relationships last in the long-run. I live in jeans and rarely dress up, not because I don't have the wardrobe, but b/c I prefer not to, nor am I looking to impress anyone - I know who I am and don't need to prove it.
Bonus points if you like or watch sports sometimes or at least don't get upset if I do sometimes. I'm in the gym 3x a week or better, but trim, not buff anymore like I was in my 20's and 30's. I go there to relax, but I still have a laugh listening to all those Macho Dudes there grunting and staring at themselves in the mirrors at various angles. It's high value entertainment. I also eat very healthy (pescatarian), so you're probably pretty health conscious and fit, too, but not fanatic.
Good luck to all of you with your search. I feel like there's someone for everyone and may we all find that someone. R-
