My self-summary
Hey there. Looking for a stable, monogamous relationship. No cheaters, serial daters, Party Girls and especially Cougars (the latest trend of visitors I've had).

You're probably more on the Old School/"Old Soul" side and very easygoing (ie: extremely low maintenance). Having lived abroad for six years, I generally do better with foreigners or out-of-towners (ie: another state or interesting accent or backstory). I've also realized that if I had to pick ideal occupations for those I do well with, it would be a veterinarian, a teacher, or a graphic designer - go figure.

I work hard, write hard, enjoy long walks with my dog in Prospect Park to decompress. He's a Pomeranian, so he's a bit yippy - if that's an issue or you don't love dogs, we won't work.

I go to theater all the time - (literally twice a month on average), dinner, museums, and a glass of wine, a piano bar, concert, sporting event or catch a flick sometimes; very content to order in, relax and watch some Netflix. The dancing, barhopping, staying out late/club days are long behind me. Once or twice a season when my friends come in from LA, I'll hit the Meatpacking District to make their evening. That's about it.

I'm a former amateur athlete, so my knees/joints don't permit me to ski, snowboard, mountain climb, play tennis, marathon, triathlon or do Xtreme sports, so can't be your partner in that area, but happy to cheer you on and support you. That being said, I can hold your hand, walk with you and hold a great conversation and make you laugh. Only realized how important the laughing part was as I got older and wiser. I'm super down-to-Earth + you are too (this is probably more important than any other quality you have to me). Less is more. Just looking for that real connection to share with someone who's looking for similar. We all have faults and flaws. It's being able to look past all that and not judging that makes relationships last in the long-run. I live in jeans and rarely dress up, not because I don't have the wardrobe, but b/c I prefer not to, nor am I looking to impress anyone - I know who I am and don't need to prove it.

Bonus points if you like or watch sports sometimes or at least don't get upset if I do sometimes. I'm in the gym 3x a week or better, but trim, not buff anymore like I was in my 20's and 30's. I go there to relax, but I still have a laugh listening to all those Macho Dudes there grunting and staring at themselves in the mirrors at various angles. It's high value entertainment. I also eat very healthy (pescatarian), so you're probably pretty health conscious and fit, too, but not fanatic.

Good luck to all of you with your search. I feel like there's someone for everyone and may we all find that someone. R-
What I’m doing with my life
Working hard at my day job Dir. of Biz Dev. and writing and producing my screenplays at night (produced filmmaker). Just trying to be as stress-free as possible, while earning a living in this crazy economy so I can enjoy life a little more. And trying as hard as I can to learn from all my past mistakes and not repeat them.
I’m really good at
Writing, problem-solving, foreign languages, working out (Pilates in particular), banter, sarcasm, making you laugh, being a loyal and trusted friend, being around animals, not giving up, keeping healthy and eating well, being generous and supportive when the chips are down, telling it like it is, and keeping the streets safe for women and children, with the help of Livingston, my 13lbs. "attack" Pomeranian - the dog featured in my profile. He has been known to lick people to death on numerous occasions - so be warned.
The first things people usually notice about me
The fact that I look and act 10-15 years younger than I am (in a good way).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The movie "Seven" (with brad Pitt and any great thrillers or films with twist endings like "The Sixth Sense," all Bway and off Bway - saw "Venus In Fur" and "Carrie" off Bway earlier this year, both of which I loved - generally, the darker and edgier, the better; like all music particularly classic rock but I listen to literally every; Italian and Mexican food are my faves; actually fell in love with a few vegan restaurants as well. I will admit that due to my schedule, I listen to books on tape these days a bit sometimes instead of reading - when you're tired or on the subway, it's just so much easier to close your eyes and listen. But I'd say it's 50-50 now.
The six things I could never do without
Good food, good friends, good banter/company, going to the theater, travel to warm places, my family + dog (he's a family member, too). Will also add one thing I want to do without: people who post their political views daily on Facebook every hour on the hour. While I respect everyone's politics, I'd like the dinner conversation to be about anything but politics.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Self-improvement and staying happy and positive. How much taxes are taken out of my check and where it all goes. My next big writing project/concept. How to reduce stress from the day-to-day rigors of the workplace, failing economy and life in general and applying those stress-reducing practices, so I can appear cool as a cucumber at all times ("Never let 'em see ya sweat" kind of Zen stuff). And finally, why people post pics on here that are like 2-10 years old... When you show up to a date not looking like your photos, it's kind of false advertising and a waste of each others' time, no?
On a typical Friday night I am
Dinner, movies, theater, live show/performance; or relaxing at home watching Netflix. Drinks with friends. Lately, I've been laying low a bit more, only because I'm not in a relationship, so enjoying my downtime a bit more than normal. Weather's been ridiculous, so...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm 75% Old School, Guy's Guy and 25% metrosexual mixed in. Shower is full of various Mario Badescu products, so if you eventually decide to sleep over one night, I got you covered in that department :-) And I'm a great person to take with you shopping.
I’m looking for
  • Straight girls only
  • Ages 36–43
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners

You are (and most important of your qualities) down-to-Earth. You are fit or trim, eat fit, and lead a healthy lifestyle - I work out 3x+ a week and looking for similar. You MUST love dogs and hopefully not mind dating someone who lives in Prospect Park, Brooklyn - grew up in Manhattan and got tired of paying high rents.

You're hopefully available more than once a week to spend some quality time (I don't need a friend with benefits), like to go out and have a good time, but definitely leaning towards the quieter side (ie: no nightclubs), where we are really able to enjoy each others' company, yet are just as content spending the night ordering in and maybe watch a flick. Please don't live outside Manhattan, Queens, or Brooklyn - too difficult traveling with the dog. Just keeping it real...
