I love getting lost in a crowd of strangers with a backpack and a passport. Big fan of beaches, mountains, ruins and old cities. I've lived in England, The Ukraine, briefly in Spain, and backpacked through many more. I spent the majority of my adolescence escaping the Mid-West suburbs (though still nice to visit) and after +/- 11 years in NYC I still love exploring this city! Deep down I'm an optimist but first impressions will likely come off as cynical. I keep up with current events, politics, and even find time for the arts (was 1 class away from a Modern Drama minor @ NYU but went with Russian). I believe in taking care of myself and keep up a fairly active lifestyle. Oh, and love the food! Forever immersing myself in this city's culinary delights and I won't stop until I'm gastronomically satiated! Bbq's, chi-chi restaurants, etc. I'm happiest when full. Sadly, I'm still working on my Momofuku Ko reserv's (if you think I just insulted your mom, stop reading !?!).
I spend the better part of my weekdays behind a distressed debt trading desk and/or entertaining clients so my weekdays tend to be very structured, but my nights and weekends tend to be more... festive (and contrary to popular belief, I get alotta vaca). I like theatre, museums, galleries, concerts, lounges, central park, and I'm equally content at a dive bar or a club. I can hold my own on the dance floor - for a guy. I wanted Obama (1st time around) and I thoroughly regret it... I'm fiscally conservative and socially liberal but I love dating left-wingers so I can point out just how wrong you are! So if you think I've sold my soul to business, or wanna know what it's like to celebrate carnival in Salvador, or go swimming with sharks, or where to get the best martini in NYC - let's talk. That should be enough to start a convo.
BTW, if you made it this far I appreciate your attention span. I'm always looking for interesting friends so if your not romanticizing, that's cool. Just make it very clear in your msg and I promise not to hit on you sober.
