I was raised Republican by my dad but have become more of a libertarian the older I get. I like reading sci fi, (Star Trek!); watching TV (crime and lawyers and GH since college); attending concerts, especially 80s and 90s pop music; and cooking, using my own home-grown herbs (legal ones for cooking). I like driving my car with the top down and the music on. America is a beautiful country, which cannot be appreciated by flying. One of my completed goals was driving Rte. 66 from beginning to end., I drove CA Hwy. 1 from Santa Cruz to Santa Monica and would love to do the northern coastal drive from San Francisco to the WA border.
I didn't expect to be starting a new life at 50, but in doing so I realized I have never lived alone before. It's a new experience. I prefer life to have a foundation of security from which I can then fly and explore new people, places, and things. I can have fun cuddling on the couch watching a movie; I can be exhilarated driving down the road to somewhere I have never been (just don't believe in honoring the speed limit); and I can be content sitting on the mountainside watching a gorgeous sunset. For me, life requires some of each in order to have balance. However, be warned, my idea of camping is a minimum of an RV; I am not the sleep on the ground type, and until I have my coffee and hot shower, I don't feel alive.
