My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Haven't quite figured out how to connect with people when the common threads of life no longer exist. For so many years being a mom, wife, and paralegal resulted in a "community" that I no longer am a part of. The kids are grown and live elsewhere, no grandchildren yet, single, and retired. I am not the hang out in bars type of person, although I enjoy a good concert.

Having grown up in Northwest NJ - I left Rutgers College after my first year, moved to Houston, then various parts of the Southwest, coming to call Sierra Vista home. I took a haitus and spent 5 years in WI, but came back to SE Arizona in hopes of getting warm again. Divorced with 2 adult children, I retired from being a paralegal manager for a law office, after 30+ years in the legal field due to disability.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
In the spring and summer I am usually in my herb garden or taking a drive in my Miata enjoying the AZ sunshine. In the winter, the dvd plays endless formats and streams Dr. Who, Farscape, Star Trek ... Or I am reading the current eBook from Grisham, Patterson or my latest sci fi find.

I am in the defrost stage. Winter is finally letting go and in another two weeks, I will be ecstatic with highs of 80s and lows of 60s. I don't like being cold, so I am snuggled under the blankies until it is above 75. I know, I am in AZ, but they call it the high desert for a reason - those overnight lows are still 40s.

Whatever the season I tend to walk to take care of errands or to wander the Farmers Market. I enjoy smiling at people and striking up conversations whether they are selling their products at the market or waiting in line at the post office.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Whatever I feel like doing - growing my herb garden, cooking, road trips, and procrastinating.

I can mail my taxes tomorrow! (I procrastinated for quite a while.)
The herb garden is planted. Waiting to see if my 5 types of thyme will come back or if they are gone for good. Haven't been able to find cinnamon basil seed, but two types of lemon, genovese, sweet italian, and lime basil are planted. Cilantro, italian and curled parsley, orange mint, fennel, caraway, marjoram, 2 types of oregano - you get the idea.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Depends on who they are and why they are noticing me. Most compliment my smile. In the summertime, the comments are about my suntan. I like absorbing sunlight. (Why own a convertible if you are afraid of the sunshine.)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I love science fiction, legal mysteries, and most other types of mysteries. I have been a Star Trek fan since I was 10. I like music from the 80s and 90s, Gin Blossoms, Sister Hazel, Journey, Cheap Trick, Stevie Nicks, Bon Jovi and more currently, The Fray, New Republic.

Food, for me is less about what type of food and more about it being good food. I am a good cook. I like good Mexican restaurants, good pizza, and desserts, and I love chicken fried steak at truck stops I miss blackened redfish which I enjoyed alot in Houston in th 80s. I don't like sushi. Food is about flavor, and creativity, not price.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Aside from air, water, shelter, and food ... What I don't want to be without is:

My Miata,
A good book
A reason to smile
Fresh herbs and quality spices
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Keeping warm - winter is here!. Is there is any place in AZ with a decent size town that doesn't get cold?
How soon will it be warm enough to take the top down.
YEAH! THAT TIME IS FINALLY HERE - IT'S APRIL IN AZ AND THE TOP HAS BEEN DOWN FOR THE PAST WEEK!!!! I AM SMILING.

What I miss most in living alone is having someone around to talk with about the everyday things - the news, movies or music, whatever has caught my attention - and I miss companionship - having someone to do things with especially roadtrips. Prefer it when someone else makes the coffee.

I can have fun cuddling on the couch watching a movie; enjoy sitting in the sun reading a book; be exhilarated driving down the road to somewhere I have never been (just don't believe in honoring the speed limit); be excited over cooking a meal together: or be content sitting on the mountainside watching a gorgeous sunset. For me, life requires some of each in order to have balance.

Your are interested in starting a conversation, taking the time to find out if we are friends or potentially something more, and meeting a real person who has foibles and virtues;
the possibility of interesting conversation, an enjoyable time with a vivacious, intelligent, witty, sometimes crazy, woman that you like despite the defects. :-)

A note that doesn't fit anywhere else. If these are issues for you, please pass on by -

1) Not into religion and don't want to be lectured about it.

2) I believe adults should be able to love and marry whomever makes them happy.

3) My computer usage is limited so quick responses are not physically feasible. I check this site about once a month.

4) I don't want someone to try and "fix" me or "save" me or "think" for me. It's not your job, just appreciate me for who I am.
