My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
You know how people list what qualities they are drawn to? Ambition, confidence, humor, etc.? Well, I'm drawn to exuberance and passion, to outbursts of enthusiasm and unrestrained, child-like joy. Basically, I'm drawn to nerds. :)

I'm much the same with my hobbies and relationships. I try not to take half-measures; if I enjoy something, I go in full tilt, and I'd like to be with someone who shares that perspective, even if the things she loves are different from the things that I love. To me, there's nothing more attractive than a woman who knows what she loves and isn't afraid or ashamed to show people how much she loves it.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a professional technogeek (translation: tech consultant/engineer) who leads a pretty busy life (who doesn't these days?), but I always try to make time for my friends and family.

I LOVE to wander. When I have nothing planned I'll hop on my bike and go for a ride around LA with my camera and Kindle stuffed in my bag. Every now and then I'll also feel the urge to take off and vanish into the wilderness for a couple of days with just my tent and sleeping bag to immerse myself in nature (and pretend that I'm in Middle Earth; I AM NOT ASHAMED!)

On Sundays you'll most likely find me on a couch somewhere, reading an entire book in one sitting or marathoning a nerdy TV show.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm changing this to, "I want to get really good at...", because I think it's a better question to ask.

I want to get really good at....
* Photography. I bought this camera, I'm gonna use it, dammit
* Writing. I really wish I had the time to do NaNoWriMo again.
* Traveling, not just to far off places, but also to nearby places I've never been to. I've got 200,000 frequent flyer miles and counting! See also: Photography, because traveling is the main reason I got into photography to begin with.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That my state of mind seems to flip between zen-like calmness and child-like excitability.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I am a television junkie. Doctor Who, Sherlock, Mythbusters, Psych, and all things Whedon (Buffy, Angel, Firefly) are my all-time favorite, but I could seriously go on forever, so if you love TV, too, just ask and let's talk!

Favorite books: Matilda (ages 9-12), Ender's Game (ages 12-15), Dune (ages 15-18), and the A Song of Ice and Fire series (ages 18+). A very recent favorite is The Martian, by Andy Weir. All I can say is, WOW.

Recent favorite movies: Guardians of the Galaxy, Big Hero 6, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Iron Man, Avengers, Star Trek (2009), among others. Disney movies deserve their own category.

My favorite songs are the ones that fit whatever situation I'm currently in (e.g. beach songs while at the beach, road trip songs while on the road, etc.). Basically I like having a soundtrack to my life. That said, I am slightly obsessed with musicals, especially Les Miserables and Disney.

I can eat almost anything, but Japanese food (sushi + ramen) and Mediterranean food (shawerma) are my current favorites.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Six things that I own that I could never do without
- My Kindle
- My Sony A7 and RX100m2 cameras
- My laptop (w/ associated accessories)
- My smartphone (aka my portable link to Wikipedia, aka the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy)
- My personal adventure kit (i.e. backpack with spare clothes, Nalgene bottle, toiletries, etc., for those unexpected trips)
- My bike

Six things that I don't own that I could never do without
- The great outdoors
- Bookstores (and libraries)
- Wikipedia
- Padded floors (or better yet, bouncy floors)
- Air travel
- Outer space
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to throw myself at the ground and miss. (Hence the necessity for padded/bouncy floors in previous section.) I'm telling you, it's the secret to learning how to fly. The first part is easy. It's the second part I'm having trouble with. *ow*

Seriously, though, I think about a lot. Most of my web time is spent link-surfing history and science pages on Wikipedia.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
....planning my weekend getaway. Maybe a road trip, maybe a camping trip, who knows? I also like to indulge in "staycations" in and around the city.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My favorite dance songs are TV theme songs

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
Choose two or more:'re a bit of a nerd/geek and aren't afraid to show it would love to go camping (or maybe just picnicking to start with) want to watch a meteor shower have a Disneyland annual pass, or are willing to go at least twice a year want to travel the world know where I got my username

Ultimately, though, all of the above boils down to three things:
- Be passionate
- Be curious
- Be adventurous

DFTBA! (Don't forget to be awesome!)
