I am Friendly, Caring, and Funny.
My Self-Summary
I like to think I'm someone who has just about found the middle
ground between being so laid back I fall over and having so many
dreams and aspirations I've always got something to look forward
to. Although daydreaming is one of my favourite past times, so when
Im not out there living out my dreams, im dreaming about living
them out!! :D
I live in a village, so I'm close enough to the country and to the
city to be able to enjoy all that both can offer. I love driving,
walking and drinking in the country and I love shopping, clubbing
and all the other attractions found in big cities.
Outside the 9-5, i enjoy travelling and I've volunteered abroad in
the past, which was such an excellent experience I'd love to do it
again. Because of this I'd love to meet someone with a sense of
adventure and someone who tends to think outside the box.
Im the first on the dancefloor stone cold sober, so I'm generally
up for a laugh and a good time. I also tend to think its the
company you're in and making the most of every situation that makes
experiences in life the most worth while and enjoyable.
I think I may be the last of the old romantics, but I like the
little gestures and the grand moments that remind me I might be out
of sight but not out of mind. Equally I'm pretty independent and I
like time to myself to do my own things, so I like people who have
their own mind and interests too.
What I’m doing with my life
A major part of my life is my work, and after studying for what
seems like forever, I'm finally working in a job I love, in a NHS
service for children with learning disabilities.
Friends and family mean the world to me, so when I'm not at work,
and I'm not daydreaming, I'm out enjoying spending time with my
loved ones. I don't really have any set routines outside of work,
as I'm happy to go with the flow, and I like to have time free to
go to gigs, festivals and whatever else takes my fancy. I quite
often have fads on activities, but I can get bored easily, and
become claustrophobic with too much routine, so I dont have any
specific hobbies, even though I enjoy most things.
I enjoy travelling and I would still consider working abroad again,
or doing some working holidays abroad, so I can carry on seeing the
world and at the same time retain my pension!! So basically I'm a
free spirit who likes a degree of security!!
I’m really good at
Understanding and supporting people, making people giggle and feel
at ease, making cups of tea, eating chocolate, being lazy!!
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm almost always smiling or laughing, so if you don't see me
smiling, you'll usually hear me laughing!! So I've been told its
usually my smile that people notice first, but I have noticed that
people often look a little south of my face when they're talking to
me, so you can make your own conclusions about what they notice
when they're closer up...!!
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: My favourite author is Jane Austen, but I love all of the
classics, by most authors, if they have romantic, quintessential
characters and have beautiful descriptions that set the scene - all
helps with the daydreaming!! :) I'll read most books though,
although I did really struggle to read trainspotting!! I couldnt
put down the Da Vinci Code, and Marilyn Manson's autobiography (my
current read) is just as compelling.
Films: I love any film that has a poignant message, and either
leaves me feeling at ease with the world, or sobbing my heart out
because of the injustice of it!! Thus my favourite films of all
time are: Shawshank Redemption, Beautiful Mind, Persuit of
Happyness, Shooting Dogs, Amazing Grace, Green Mile... the list
goes on!! I have a huge collection of chick flicks, to balance out
the poignance with films I can switch off to completely, and i also
like action films and horrors, although sci fi will take a little
more persuasion and a lot more popcorn!!
Comedy: I really love my live comedy, and my favourites at the
moment are Alan Carr (I know he's not to everyone's taste, but
guaranteed to leave me in gasping for breath and fighting back the
tears!!), Dara O'Brien, Frankie Boyle, Ed Byrne, Ben Elton, Simon
Amstel, Eddie Izzard, Russell Howard. If you're a Mock the Week fan
and have noticed the relation of many of these comedians, I can
confirm its one of my favourite programmes!!
Music: I quite like most music, although I'm no music buff, only
thing I can't listen to is dance/trance/house type stuff. My fave
genre is definately indie/alternative/rock music, with my favourite
bands being MUSE, Kings of Leon, Kasabian, RATM, Stone Roses,
Charlatons, Maximo Park, Greenday, NERD, Air, Beth Orton,
etc...
Food: I'll eat any type of food, but I dont eat red meat - I'll
cook it for other people and have no problems with people eating it
around me, i just dont like the taste!!
The six things I could never do without
Being lazy. Sweet things. Loved ones. Travel. Daydreaming.
Projects.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where to move walls to in my house.
Where to travel to next.
Other people's actions and motives.
Whats going on in the world and what will happen next.
I'm big on thinking, pondering and reflecting, anything that grabs
my attention ill have a wonder about...
On a typical Friday night I am
Taking it easy at the pub with friends or watching my fave
programmes on catch up....just generally conserving energy for a
night on the town on Saturday night!! :D
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
He he, I'm not falling for that one... but please do ask me
anything you'd like to know!!
You should message me if
You'd like to put a smile on my face!! :D
