I'm currently working for a legal aid organization while I finish my law degree. The law thing tends to consume my life a little, but I try not to let it define me too much. In my spare time, I'm into art, literature, and movies. I'm motivated and have an active mind, but I'm actually pretty relaxed and relateable in person.

When I go out, I prefer being in a place where conversation is possible. I like to check out local bands once in a while, but most often I go for coffee or drinks with a few good friends. I sometimes attend art events like poetry readings and festivals. I recently went to an "adult only" clown show (kind of disappointing).

I like to travel and I recently spent a year in France, where I learned that entire vending machines full of croissants are a real thing.

I'm also fluent in le french: for example, "La femme est le potage de l'homme..." means something like, 'women are the soup of men.' Stay classy, Molière.

I have a bit of a book fetish, it started at a young age. I have been caught more than once pulling books off the shelf in a bookstore and smelling the bindings while rolling my eyes in ecstasy.

Classics include Proust, André Gide, Émile Zola, Camus, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Steinbeck, Cohen.
I also like science fiction authors like Orson Scott Card and Greg Bear, and comic books (full disclosure).

Music: Iron and Wine, Hey Rosetta, Ray LaMontagne, Tom Waits, Po' Girl, Joni Mitchell, Patrick Watson, Fish and Bird, Deep Dark Woods, Sean Hayes, Les Cowboys Frangants, Bon Iver.

Tv/Film: I watch nerdy stuff like Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, True Blood. I'm a little more open minded regarding films but I still watch sci-fi when it comes out.

The future (of humanity). Robot uprising or zombie apocalypse? I'm an optimist, so I'm going with robot uprising.

I also ponder whether half the girls in Vancouver are truly bisexual, as their OkCupid profiles seem to suggest, or if some of you ladies are just trying to impress.

I went to see a Twilight film in a theatre.

You can handle someone with a busy schedule, you're smart and motivated, and you're down for adventures but you also enjoy hedonistic afternoons in bed with movies and chocolate.
