I am a bisexual, polyamorous, pagan (but skeptical) male looking for (preferably local) friends of any gender (and I do recognize the distinction between sex and gender, which is why I don't say "either" implying only two choices) for hanging out, dating, or whatever.
I have been married to the lovely and talented peachesnjasmin for 18 years, and she fully supports the possibility of my finding additional relationships, FWB, hook-ups, etc. This is not cheating; it is ethical non-monogamy. And, to be clear, I am looking for myself only. We are not on the hunt for a "hot bi babe to complete our family". She has an additional partner of her own, and is not necessarily looking for anything more.
Mainly, I'm just out to have fun and whatever happens, happens. I'm not looking for love, necessarily, but I'm not avoiding it either. I tend to take a very casual approach to relationships. I really enjoy just having friends to hang out with, talk to, that kind of thing -- and if an intimate relationship of some sort develops along the way as well, that's even better.
I'm something of a a massive geek, I admit. I'm a computer programmer, a science fiction fan, a tabletop gamer, and (along with my wife and her partner) co-owner of a GLBT-focused erotic romance micropublisher called Storm Moon Press. I enjoy renaissance faires, can name all the captains from Star Trek in chronological order, know the difference between a success and a critical hit, and can explain the significance of both the number 19 and the number 42.
Which is not to say that I require such of anyone I'm friends with, just that they are tolerant if I "geek out" once in a while if something triggers it while we're hanging out.
In addition, as mentioned above, I co-own and run an independent publishing company specializing in GLBT-centric erotic romances, and have even published a couple of stories of my own through it. I also have ideas for longer pieces that may or may not ever see the light of day.
And I am especially good at downplaying other things that people assure me I'm good at, like writing.
Either that or my butt. I'm told I have quite a nice butt.
(b) Serenity!! Also, the Matrix trilogy, Children of Dune, Big Trouble in Little China, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Clue, Basic, The Replacements, Ladyhawke, The Princess Bride, Dead Again, TRON: Legacy, and Real Genius.
And since television shows aren't included in the question, I'll include them here:
On Air: Doctor Who, Mythbusters, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, Scorpion, The Librarians, Supergirl, Limitless, and Sherlock
Gone but not Forgotten: Firefly, Forever Knight, Fringe, Battlestar Galactica, Haven, Top Gear, Continuum, Slings and Arrows, Heroes, Dollhouse, Caprica, Penn and Teller's Bullshit, Torchwood, and Red Dwarf
(c) I have very eclectic tastes, so it's too hard to pin down. I usually avoid rap, but even that's not a hard and fast rule. Here's a sample of my current playlist, though, to give you an idea... Lindsey Stirling, Peter Hollens, Evanescence, Kitaro, Vienna Teng, Ani DiFranco, Andreas Vollenweider, Kathy Mattea, Voltaire, Seether, Tom Lehrer, Slipknot, Beethoven, Daft Punk, Halestorm, Within Temptation, and Lacuna Coil.
And I also love musicals. My favorites there are probably Assassins, 1776, Into the Woods, Jekyll & Hyde, Next to Normal, and Les Miserables.
(d) Sushi pretty much tops the list. Other than that, there's very few things I don't like, and I'm always willing to try new things. Plus, my wife is an excellent cook, and there are several dishes that I adore, but only when she makes them, like chicken and dumplings, grape leaf rolls, chicken picatta, salmon in dill cream sauce, and (even though she hates making it) liver and onions.
1. My wife. She's my rock, and in any conflict between her and another necessity, she wins.
2. Computer and internet. It's the introvert's lifeline. Not to mention, I sort of make my living that way.
3. Healthy sex life. You can only make friends with your right hand for so long.
4. Circus Peanuts. Those orange marshmallow-type things that are pretty much pure sugar and fat? Oh, yeah, those are my weakness.
5. The Serenity DVD. If I had to pick one movie to be the only one I could watch for the rest of my life, this would be the one.
6. Sonic screwdriver. Cause that thing can do ANYTHING. Oh, wait, it's not real? Damn. Never mind, then.
Seriously, though, I'm not a very private person by nature. My life is very much an open book. I have no shame or modesty, so anything you want to know, I will tell you. Probably exhaustingly. In graphic detail. With diagrams if necessary.
Really. I have no TMI filter. You may find yourself saying "Okay, that's more than I needed to know!" from time to time.
2. You are comfortable with non-monogamy. It's surprising how many people read this profile, send me a message, and then are stunned when I say my wife wants to meet them. What part of "open and honest" is confusing?
3. Actually, there isn't a number 3. I just don't like lists of only 2 items.
Oh, and if you act now, and I'll throw in a free handy-dandy, super deluxe, waterproof, shock-resistant, genuine imitation silver letter opener! (However, due to the recent postal hike, you must appear in person to collect the free gift. While supplies last, void where prohibited, your mileage may vary, results not typical, no refunds or substitutions.)
