I am gentle, witty, and compassionate.
My Self-Summary
I'm a fairly quiet person and I choose to hold my tongue unless I
have something decent to say. I'm not a particularly bubbly person
although I've been known to break out of my shell in the right
company.
I've recently purchased a new motorcycle and I enjoy being out on
the road, exploring unknown places and seeing the things we take
for granted from a different perspective. I don't consider myself
to be a "biker" and I certainly don't live that lifestyle.
I'm somewhat eccentric and always visible in a crowd, so there will
never be a fear of getting lost around me! I reckon that's a good
thing. I've always got some or other style of facial hair and
currently it's a really long goatee. Ask for a pic, even if it's
just for a laugh!
I consider myself to be a humorous person and I believe we need
laughter to stay sane.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a senior software developer/team lead with a fairly large
financial institution. My career is fairly important to me as it
allows me to afford the little luxuries that make life worthwhile.
That said, it certainly does not consume my life and I have a fair
amount of time to enjoy the things I am afforded.
I’m really good at
I'm generally considered to be a good listener and I am never
judgmental. I'll offer my opinions when asked but I will never
force them on anyone. I'm a logical thinker but I have a big heart
and at times I find the two at war with each other.
The first things people usually notice about me
Well, I'm pretty damn tall, so I guess that's a given. I also
currently have a really long beard, which you can't really miss. I
have deep blue eyes and depending on my mood and what I'm wearing,
I'm told my eyes give away my age as they appear very playful.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: I enjoy reading fantasy novels. Anything with a remotely
epic connotation that manages to make me fall in love with the
characters and their adventures gets my blood flowing.
Movies: Pretty much anything, really. I prefer decent thrillers,
horrors and sci-fi but when the mood strikes I quite enjoy certain
romantic comedies. I also really like stand-up comedy.
Music: This one's somewhat contentious. I mainly listen to rock and
metal but there are certain other genres I find intriguing. I enjoy
some celtic and new-age artists but nothing beats the clarity and
power of a good rock balad.
Food: I'm really not fussed. I love food in general and there are
very few things I don't enjoy. Favorites would probably be
spare-ribs and pizza.
The six things I could never do without
My bike
My friends
My family
My music
Beautiful scenery
My pc.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Humanity. Humans are quite intriguing beings. We're all so
different, yet we're all the same on so many levels.
Everything I want to achieve in life. The places I want to visit
and the things I want to see. I've always had wanderlust but it's
been significantly compounded since I've bought the bike.
Many, many other things. It all depends on what happened during the
day. I generally consider myself to be a deep thinker.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either watching movies or episodes, listening to music, braaing,
watching bands or just having a beer with a few friends at our
local watering hole.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Private things are considered private for a reason...
You should message me if
If you're looking for new friends with different experiences and
different backgrounds to share your life with or if you're
interested in finding someone to experience new things with. Who
knows what the future holds? The way I see it, there are no wrong
choices in life. Everything we do shapes who we are and it's only
through experience that we learn.
