I am multitalented, kind-hearted, and unique.

My Self-Summary

Oct. 2009 :

I am interested in finding that special woman who can't live without me. Someone beautiful to look at, intellectually engaging to talk to, faithful beyond a shadow of a doubt, energetic but not over-zealous. And since I'm a full-time single dad with an adorable 8 year old son in the mix, she will need to be accepting of that aspect as well.

Ideally we should live close-by to accomodate an active dating life together and by that I mean close to if not actually in McKinney, TX

Hopefully she won't be a serial dater, but rather someone who is looking for a loving partner over the long haul. I'm not interested in those who are in the process of a divorce, she must be completely at liberty to move forward with me should we both decide that's what we want.

I'd probably invite you to meet me at Town Lake, with my dog or maybe with just my guitar and we'd sit on one of the nice benches looking over the water, and talk... tell jokes.. whatever. See what you like for entertainment on a normal basis. Decide if we want to go grab a bite together or do something else. I'm very spontaneous and can come up with fun ideas on the fly.

I also sing sometimes several times a week. I've been a musician all my life (well from 3 on), and have sung in some band or show or solo or whatever since I was 11, so I keep in shape by singing karaoke when not in a music project. Live band karaoke is the rage right now, and it's a blast. Or I may be playing and performing myself, so a good way to meet *me* is to maybe come listen, or come see my band play and chat after. "Up to you" Mai pen rai.

And hey, if we end up going to a movie? Turn off your cell phone please, like mine. I've been on movie dates where the girl sat there carrying on a text conversation with her girlfriends the entire time.

What I’m doing with my life

Raising my son. Fixing up the new house. Digging the huge back yard. Playing a lot more music again, which is a good thing.

Visit me at www.myspace.com/danaeddymusic for way too many photos and more info.

I also enjoy talking to people about restoring our nation to its embrace of the Constitution, and its love of liberty and freedom. We should share similar views on this but we don't have to be in lock step on politics. A little difference of opinion can make for feisty conversation. ;)

I'm neither a Republican nor a Democrat, not a Libertarian although my leanings are that direction. We were given "our great title" in the Declaration of Independence, and I prefer to identify with that one: American.

I’m really good at

Everything I decide to do. I'm good at saving lives. I'm good at getting keys out of locked cars for other people with very little to work with. I'm good at playing music, good at singing, and probably one of the better frontmen you'll find. I'm a good daddy. Recently I rediscovered that I mow a mean yard. I'm good at fixing just about anything, including your computer. When my car breaks, I learn a new repair job. I'm a better than average procrastinator, but that's because I take very little in life seriously. You could say I'm a highly skilled and advanced slacker.

I've noticed that a lot of the women here are real go-getters. Some even appear to be giants of industry. That's fine, I don't mind at all. But please be detached enough from your work / career that you can find the time for fun and pleasure. I've got good sitter coverage when I need it and I'm sort of a night owl, so if you are too that's a plus.

The first things people usually notice about me

That I don't look anywhere near my age, and that I wear really cool coats in the winter. : )

I'm 6 foot even, dark hair and brown / hazel / gold eyes depending on the time of year and the lighting. I weigh 180 lbs and have a few tattoos.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Music/Artists: I like, in no particular order and far from complete: Robbie Williams, Rush, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Steve Vai, G3, Queensryche, Kansas, NIN, RATM, ASKA (local metal band www.askaband.com ), Styx, Tubes, Linkin Park, Metallica (older), Ten Hands, Celtic Woman, Daniel Amos, REZ Band, Nuclear Valdez, Jon Sykes / Blue Murder, Counting Crows, Aerosmith, Creed, Nickelback, Staind, Matchbox 20, Goo Goo Dolls, Enigma, Andreas Vollenweider, Lynyrd Skynyrd, P.O.D., Puddle of Mudd, K-Ci & JoJo, Usher, Brian McKnight, R Kelly, Eminem, Amanda Marshall, Billy Mann, Doors, Harry Chapin, CSN&Y, Randy Stonehill, Larry Norman, Three Days Grace, Tool, and many many MANY more... (About the only thing I don't listen to is gangsta rap, I think it's lame) I try to listen to all of it but that's just impossible sometimes.

Books/Authors: Way too many to list. George R. R. Martin is my favorite high fantasy author ("A Song of Ice & Fire" series is where I get my online nickname "LordSnow"), J.R.R. Tolkien, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Bentley Little (whom I went to school with), Anne McCaffrey, Piers Anthony, Michael Chrichton, Robin Cook, The Holy Bible of course, Dennis Miller's Rants, Ted Nugent's "Kill It and Grill It", Frank Herbert, Robert A. Heinlein, Dan Brown, Edgar Allen Poe,etc.

Movies: Since I'm a major film buff, there is virtually no way to answer this on one webpage, so I'll give a short list - As Good As It Gets, This Is Spinal Tap, Lord Of The Rings, Matrix (orig), Highlander (there should've been only one), Fight Club, Gladiator, Spartacus, Dune, Alien/Aliens/Aliens3, 5th Element, 13th Warrior, From Hell, Sleepy Hollow, Lawnmower Man, What Dreams May Come, 28 Days (or anything with Sandra Bullock in it) As I said, far far too many more to list as I'm addicted to film. My TV is typically on AMC or TCM or the History Channel at all times.

Foods: Updated May 2008

In 'n' Out Double Doubles, Griff's triple cheeseburgers, Alfredo's Pizza, Big Tony's Pizza, Thai cuisine, Caesar salads (plain or with shrimp or chicken but tons of parmesean cheese!), Italian food, BBQ, Seafood (KING CRAB!), Jason's Deli baked spuds, Prime Rib, Ribeye steak, Alaskan King Crab, Lobster, Grilled Chicken, Hot Dogs (Oscar Mayer only), Premium Saltines and cold milk, Garlic toast, Bleu Cheese dressing, H²O, Fruit juices (pineapple!), Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, etc.... and so much more.

The six things I could never do without

1. My kids 2. My faith 3. Fantastic sex 4. Mental Stimulation (Film, Art, Music, Computers, TV etc.) 5. Laughter (Shared preferably) 6. Good Food & Drink

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Theology, politics, metaphysics, esoterica, comedy, and the slow but steady encroachment of the New World Order on our lives. The erosion of our liberties, the war, the upcoming election, and I must admit I think about sex quite a bit. Honesty, right? That's what you're here for hopefully.

On a typical Friday night I am

Immersed in rock n roll on a stage in a beer-soaked bar or saloon, making the women dance their asses off. Or maybe playing poker with friends. Or watching a DVD with my son. (Actually this is the norm or we play a game) Or blogging on a political forum. Or playing guitar. Or...

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I think these two songs sum me up fairly well:

Better Man

Send someone to love me,
I need to rest in arms
Keep me safe from harm,
In pouring rain

Give me endless summer,
Lord I fear the cold
Feel Im getting old,
Before my time

As my soul heals the shame
I will grow through this pain
Lord Im doing all I can...
To be a better man

Go easy on my conscience,
cause its not my fault
I know Ive been taught,
To take the blame

Rest assured my angels,
Will catch my tears
Walk me out of here,
Im in pain

As my soul heals the shame
I will grow through this pain
Lord Im doing all I can...
To be a better man

Once you've found that lover you're homeward bound
Love is all around...
Love is all around

I know some have fallen on stony ground
But love is all around

Send someone to love me,
I need to rest in arms
Keep me safe from harm,
In pouring rain

Give me endless summer,
Lord I fear the cold
Feel Im getting old,
Before my time

As my soul heals the shame
I will grow through this pain
Lord Im doin all I can...
To be a better man

- Robbie Williams

Marry Me

I wanna laugh Until I cry
Wake up with you each day 'til the day I die
Let's go down' New Orleans
And watch the parade
Take funny pictures, eat jumbalaya,
and drink lemonade

And when the day is finally over
And we stumble home
Before we sleep...
Baby, marry me

I wanna drive
Until we get lost
Lie in a field staring up at the sky
While you point out the southern cross

Somehow I know
Without asking why
That you love me more in a minute
Than anyone could in a lifetime

Dancing in the parking lot
While the band plays inside
Sweet me off my feet...
Baby, marry me

We don't need no preacher man readin' from a good book
And you don't need no fancy dress
Ain't no ceremony for the vows that I took
From the moment I met you I have been blessed

So let's make a toast
And drink up the wine
Here's to you lying here next to me
Until the end of time

Wherever you are
That's where I wanna be
And anything that means anything to ya
Means everything to me

Sneakin' out the back door
While they're throwing the rice
And they'll talk for weeks
But we're all we need
So baby, if you're free

Marry me

Baby, marry me

You should message me if

You want to debate an issue, or you want to discuss life and love and happiness, and maybe find a little in the process. How about a good laugh? Or a backrub... I can be talked into rubbing your back easier than you could ever imagine. haha
