I am passionate, hit-or-miss, and adventurous.

My Self-Summary

I always have a song in my head. I have 3 sketchbooks and numerous journals, all unfinished but used at least once, and always have a notebook in my purse. I'm new to the area [via west Phoenixish, AZ] and still trying to explore everything. I love history, art, literature, music; anything that inspires and is inspired by culture. I visit cemeteries [during the day] to take pictures, and do believe in ghosts. I'll go outside in the freezing cold/rain/snow or extreme heat just to take a picture of the sunset, or a rainbow.

I like to tell stories that have no point to them at all. I listen to my music with the volume too high, and am probably going deaf because of it. I love my glasses and my piercings. I have several ideas for tattoos but don't have any at all because I'm afraid I'll end up covered in them. My absolute favorite possession is my playgirl magazine [limited collector's edition] centerfold poster of Burt Reynolds, which was given to me by my grandmother. I enjoy my quiet time.

I suppose I'm looking for someone who can join me in laughing at the absurdity of life. Someone who likes sitting quietly at home but is willing to go on spontaneous, and often aimless, adventures. I want to see the world, but I'm content starting with the town over the hill, or the city across the highway.

What I’m doing with my life

I have a B.A. in English but realized upon graduating that I don't know what I want to do with it. I've been working in a [large corporately owned chain] coffee shop for the last 3 years and love it. I complain about it more than I should, but that's only because I have little else to complain about. I moved to CT in October '08 just for a change and have loved every second of it so far.

I’m really good at

Laughing. I love to laugh, and I'm happiest when the people around me are smiling. I'm not sure that I'm funny myself, and I tell terrible stories, but I always manage to find something to laugh at.

The first things people usually notice about me

People probably assume, at first, that I'm "quiet" or "shy". I like to listen to people before I make them listen to me, but when I have something to say, I won't hesitate to say it. Sometimes my honesty comes out wrong.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I love books, films, and [especially] music. Recently I've been re-reading and re-watching things that I already love rather than taking in new things. I'm quite open about the fact that I love the Harry Potter books, but I also love creative non-fiction, like David Sedaris, and classics like Dracula or Pride and Prejudice.

My favorite films include [but are not limited to] Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory [Gene Wilder], Empire Records, Almost Famous, Hi Fidelity, A Christmas Story, The Yellow Submarine, Peeping Tom, Garden State, and Juno.

I live music. If I'm not listening to it, I'm quietly humming it, and usually wake up and remember dreaming certain songs. Some of my favorites are 311, Motion City Soundtrack, REM, The Streets, Something Corporate, Tiger Army, Bob Dylan, Hot Chip, Rancid, John Mayer, Punchline, Journey, Guster, Sherwood, and Death Cab For Cutie.

I'm far too picky when it comes to food, but I've been expanding my tastes since I moved here. I love asparagus, hate seafood, and could eat chips and salsa until I explode. The way to my heart is a plate of sizzling hot Mexican food, or a bag of Hershey's kisses.

The six things I could never do without

Music in my head, a good book, chips and salsa, sweet tea, a phone [to talk to my family], and my car.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What I'm going to buy at the grocery store. I dislike grocery shopping so much that I honestly stress about it all the time now.

On a typical Friday night I am

Slinging lattes, as I usually work on Friday nights.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I love Mondays. Shhh, don't tell anyone.

You should message me if

well, I say, "go for it." Worst case scenario is that I won't respond. :)
