OkCupid is Free Online Dating.

Everyone always seems to start their bio by saying how bad they are at writing them. So rather than giving the cliched "I'm not so good at this" line, I'll just say that I'm no better than the rest.

This is my second OKCupid account. I've changed a lot since I made my first so I decided to start with a clean slate.
(On the off chance you care to know, my old handle is redfreya and the account still exists.)

I am in a very happy poly relationship with darkseraph07. I am not necessarily looking for anyone else, but I am open to whatever may come along if the timing and person are right. My status may say I'm available, but I'm not looking to get anything romantic or sexual from this site. (Of course if I do happen to build a friendship with you and it evolves into more, I don't intend to repress myself.)

If you would like to know a little more about me, read my OKC journal. It says a bit about me and my activities on this site. Also, sending me OKC mail will get you a better picture of who I am. I try to respond to all my IMs but thats not likely to happen consistently, so writing me a message is a better idea.

I am fluent in German as well as the obvious, and enjoy a little conversation in either language.

I love the outdoors and just about everything to do with it. I like to hike, camp, and just adventure in the woods whenever I can. I am a people person so I love going for walks with friends when I have the time for it.

Oh and I read Tarot cards though I'm a bit out of practice.

I am currently in my second year at UC Santa Cruz, working on a degree in I don't know what. When asked, I say I'm in biology, but to tell the truth, I'm not sure. As a career, that is where I'm headed, and I do love learning about it, but I'm too social to get particularly good scores. I'm likely to major Environmental Studies and Biology with possible minors in anything from zoology to education.

I'm really good at being me. People don't often realize how difficult that is. So many of us cover parts of our personality in order to spare offense, but if you can't be yourself around someone else, why be near them at all?

For the same reason, I am honest unless it will ruin someone's life to tell the truth. Thinking about how often people conveniently "leave out" information to twist the meaning of what they're saying without telling blatant lies disturbs me. I prefer to be a little hurt by the truth than to figure out later that I've been deceived.

I'm very outgoing. I draw the shy people out of the quiet corners.

I have a lot of random and mostly useless anecdotes stored in my mind along with odd bits of trivia. Especially the sciency stuff seems to stick.

I have experienced many more things than most people my age and take great pride in my various escapades.

There are many more than six, but I will name only as many as I am asked for.

Love of all sorts - familial, romantic, carnal- are important in my life.

Health of the mental and physical sort.

Friends are a key ingredient of life for me as I'm very social.

Rest for the mind and the body. I like my sleep.

Nature is of great importance to me; I grew up with it and I spend as much time in the woods as I can.

Underwear. I can't really explain why, but for the most part I can't stand not wearing underwear.

And because I'm suuuuch a rebel, I'm adding a seventh:
BDSM is a key part of my happiness. Once you gain my trust, I have no problem talking about it (in enthusiastic detail) either.

My boy and my pet fish. At least thats what my roommate says.

Heading out to Casa De Fruta where I work the renaissance faire. At least between august and october I am; after that I usually just watch movies or chill with friends.

I bite my nails sometimes even to the point of bleeding. It's a habit I've had my whole life and have so far not been able to kick. Recently I've been working very hard at it with the help of my dear boy and am only relapsing every week or so instead of every few minutes.

I wont admit anything truly "private" in my profile, but if you ask me specific questions I'm more than likely to answer them honestly.

A good conversation goes a long way. Propositioning gets you nowhere.

In addition: If it is your first instinct to abbreviate even the simplest words such as "you", "are", "could", "cool", etc, don't even bother talking to me. I find that level of degradation of the English language to be obscene.
