My self-summary Propose an edit

I'm a 25 year-old sociology geek. I'm interested in social philosophy, social justice, social movements, and deviant subcultures. I'm passionate about dismissing and defying gender roles. Many of my friends are GLBT, so queer culture is a big part of my life.

I like being outdoors or multi-tasking four arts-and-crafts projects at once. Why, yes it IS possible to crochet a hat while folding an origami balloon that matches the scrapbook I've tucked into my homemade purse I've brought kayaking!

I live for body modification. I am modified, meaning that I have oodles of fun piercings, tattoos, a skin removal scarification piece, and a brand. Thusly, I'm more rad than anyone. Ever.

The random nonsense:
I am afraid of touching dead things in water, centipedes, and Cthulhu. I can't wink, whistle, or yo-yo. I don't eat dill pickles. If I can't be barefoot, I will settle for wearing thong sandals. I own way too many/not nearly enough purses and totes. I can't sleep without white noise. I have a freckle on the palm of my left hand. I prefer my coffee black and my tea green. I think lolcats are hilarious and I sometimes lapse into bouts of lolspeak. I listen to NPR and have aural crushes on Peter Sagal and Diane Rehm.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I just moved back to CNY after living in Rochester for about two years. It's nice to be home. I'm finishing up my bachelor's at SUNY Cortland. I'm antsy to be done.

My friend Dustin moved to Maui a few years ago and I've managed to stay in close contact with his mother, Donna. She's an associate professor at SUNY Oswego and is taking a year of sabbatical to finish a book. She asked me to contribute illustrations/comics and photographs and I am TICKLED to be working with her. My art will be in a text book used by grade school technology students across the country. WINNAR!

B1) As for teevee, I don't own one, so I have fallen in love with Hulu.com and DVD sets: Golden Girls. Futurama. MST3K. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. 30 Rock. The Office. Venture Bros. Dirty Jobs.

C) Vaguely folkish alterna-rock. Favorite bands/artists include Moxy Fruvous, Alkaline Trio, Frou Frou, Imogen Heap, DeathCab, Modest Mouse, Neutral Milk Hotel, Guster, Ben Lee, They Might Be Giants. Anything on WBER.

D) Love Mexican food, especially anything from Viva's in Ithaca. I'm also a sucker for good sushi.
