My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Former Californian who moved out here to start a job as an engineer helping build satellite parts.

I can be a bit of a serial hobbyist and I'm constantly on the lookout for new things to try. I love reading, skateboarding, slacklining , biking, and weight lifting just to name a few things. My real passion though is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

I am a pretty big nerd, and have basically done every nerdy thing possible, minus LARPING (I have limits).
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying my best to look like I know what I am doing at work.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Locking myself out of places. My current record for apartment lock outs is 3 times in a single day (2 of those were within an hour of themselves). Current 2014 states are 2 apartment lockouts and 1 car lockout.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I tend to talk with my hands, which can be a problem since I have a poor sense of where my body is in space. I may have accidentally punched a stranger in the face while I was gesturing during a story.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: 1984 (1984 > Brave New World), Devil in the White City, Y: The Last Man.

Shows: I'll watch anything Joss Whedon makes. Hannibal is criminally underrated, and I am always amazed it can get on network tv. I hope Top Gear (the UK version) never ends.

Movies: The Muppets (it is a fact that everything is better with Muppets), Pulp Fiction, and The Sandlot.

Music: I can listen to The Strokes and RHCP on repeat forever. The Velvet Underground.

Food: I'll happily eat almost anything, but nothing beats a good burrito or a plate of unagi. Also if Kogi ever branches out to DC I would get fat.

Podcasts/radio: Not a listed topic but I am a rebel like that. I love Plant Money, Radio Lab, Stuff You Missed in History, and This American Life. My biggest wish is for Ira Glass to narrate my life.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. MP3 Player (soundtrack for life)
2. Books
3. Some game to play (Boardgames!)
4. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
5. Coffee
6. New topics to obsess over
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend most of my time thinking about new things to learn, books to read, movies/shows to watch, training techniques.

I am also very concerned about something I've forgotten. I'll let you know once I remember.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Its harder to say now that I am done with grad school since it used to be homework or in the lab yelling at my malfunctioning experiments.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I think the movie Mean Girls is awesome and can quote most of the lines.

I also cannot open bananas without a knife.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you are interested in trading conversation for coffee/food.

You can teach me how to pick out avocados or pineapples. I seem to have a knack at picking out semi rotten fruit.
