I am easily distracted, jaded, and a pop-culture sponge.
My Self-Summary
Before we get started, working full time and studying for the
LSAT seem to have
consumed my life. This is not to scare people away... just being
honest. I can only imagine what it will be like if and when I get
into law school. Ugh.
I moved to Kentucky from the Los Angeles area around eight years
ago, and I STILL wake up wondering where I am sometimes, and just
exactly HOW I ended up here!
I also love to
travel and dream of traveling around the
world, visiting far off countries I have only read about! I also
can't get enough of
roller coasters!
I have also discovered that sometimes I do not get the joke until
the end, and then I laugh inappropriately loud and long, which
makes other people laugh even more! It's a fun but unfortunate
cycle!
I try to surround myself with positive people, but it does not
always work. I am also too curious for my own good sometimes!
I am looking for new friends! I find being surrounded by teenagers
nonstop makes me wish for deeper conversation.
I have a habit of getting swallowed up by life and work, so anyone
that can bring me back down to earth and remind me that there's fun
to be had out there is awesome!
What I’m doing with my life
I have a
Master's Degree in
Education, but I am not
teaching much at the moment. I DO work for a
university I am sure you have heard
of if you live near me, and I absolutely love my job. I also take
and teach classes when I have time!
I am single, never married, with no children. People tell me I
really should work to remedy this situation, but I am too
go-with-the-flow to worry too much about it! And now with law
school looming, I'm much more careful who I spend my time
with.
I'm slowly teaching myself how to cook. The results are... mixed.
I’m really good at
I'm good at more things than I can do justice in a silly "About Me"
essay.
I can make people laugh, I pay attention, and tend to not lose my
head in stressful situations.
I love all things supernatural or horror related but I am terrified
of: clowns, ghosts, and snakes.
I am also good at making any situation awkward. Any. Yes, I can
even make your reading of my profile awkward. Watch...
...see? AWKWARD!
The first things people usually notice about me
The first thing people notice is that I have perfect punctuation in
my IMs and text-messages. It's a sickness. But if impeccable
punctuation is wrong, baby, I don't wanna be right!
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I love suspense, classic horror (Dracula, Frankenstein, etc.), and
others! Also, I love the old radio show horror stories. I also like
classical literature and poetry. Dan Brown books are okay in small
doses. I loved the book Wicked, and I grew up reading fantasy
books! I am also not ashamed to admit that I devoured the Harry
Potter books! All seven books in five days! I'm also (somewhat
grudgingly) going to start reading the Twilight series soon.
*UPDATE*: Three months later? NOT EVEN STARTED!
My favorite movies change every day! Some always-favorites though
are: Boondock Saints, Batman, Batman Begins, Dark Knight (see a
pattern?), comedies (Anchorman, 40 Year Old Virgin, Step Brothers),
A Christmas Story... and of course, anything horror!
Music varies. I listen to everything from heavy metal to opera. I
don't listen to much country though, and only a little rap.
Food is amazing! I love all kinds of different foods. Chinese,
Vietnamese, Italian, a good steak or other meat-product, Mexican,
Southern... I could go on and on.
Restaurants of choice: Pho BC (Vietnamese!), Punjab II (Indian),
The Pub (British \ Irish), Columbia Steakhouse (For eat-meaters!),
and B.D.'s Mongolian Grill (Umm... Mongolian Grill done by people
who try, but have likely never been to a real Mongolian Grill, but
they're good anyway, damn it so ~I~ like them!) Ummm... sorry about
that last one! I get a little passionate when defending
underappreciated foods!
Why don't they include TV shows though? Those are just as important
in the grand scheme of things, yes?
Supernatural is my favorite TV
show. I love and miss
Firefly and by proxy,
Serenity is one of my favorite
movies as well... Even IF I don't like how it turned out for at
least four characters!
The six things I could never do without
Six things?
1. Internet
2. iPhone
3. Music and Movies
4. Intellectual Stimulation
5. Other Stimulation
6. YOU!
(That was my attempt to be witty. I probably failed.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
...far away places, 80's movie plots, Vietnamese food, and my next
vacation! That and Logic Games on the LSAT. How could something
with "games" in the title pain me so?
On a typical Friday night I am
I am either vegging in front of a Blu Ray, hanging out with
friends, or working because I procrastinated during the week!
Oops!
Or I am making sure hundreds of fraternity guys don't lose fingers,
catch weird incurable diseases, or otherwise break something
important.
Reading back on all that, I really need a new hobby.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm a bit of a gypsy. I've moved over 40 times. I'll keep going
until I find everything I want.
Not good enough? FINE! I have my tongue pierced, but it's more for
utility than a statement of rebellion or whatever! SEE? Now I've
left that hanging in the air, and it's all awkward!
You should message me if
You are somewhat intelligent, good-hearted, and drama-free!
Although, some drama is occasionally fun, so if you meet all the
other requirements, I'll overlook the drama part!
Being a nerd is a huge plus. Being the elusive gamer-chick is a
guaranteed second date. If you don't know what a Ren Faire is, and
the idea of going to a horror convention does not elicit a response
akin to, "Eeeeeeeee!" with much jumping up and down and clapping,
we might not get along well!
Sharing my interests is a huge plus, more for you than me, because
if we have absolutely nothing in common, my life will seem strange
and filled with much nerd-things!
Or if you're bored and I sound interesting!
Having a pulse works too, unless you are a sexy female vampire! In
that case, the pulse thing can be forgiven. No zombies please.
