I am clever, thoughtful, and creative.
My Self-Summary
I'm excited about being here because I like the idea of machines
facilitating human-human interaction. Why are you looking at this?
Because either a computer told you I'd be interesting, or
encouraged me to contact you. Good work, okrobots.
I have a dry sense of humor and enjoy silly conversations and
speculation on why the world is the way it is. Apparently it's
obvious I'm an engineer by the way I shop, I'm told it's because of
my attention to detail (and hope it's not a lack of style). I enjoy
what I do very much, to the point where I work on personal software
projects for fun. How many people say that? I consider myself very
lucky.
I think it'd be a lot of fun to meet someone new, someone who I can
try new things with. For example: I've never kayaked, I rarely get
to see live music, and I really need to practice my cooking. I
figure there are a lot of people out there who are at a similar
point in their life, and I'd like to find them, get to know them,
and see how well we get along.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a software developer for a high traffic travel media website,
focusing on speed and browser performance. Work isn't exclusively
that, I've done quite a bit of feature implementation and some
software design.
For fun I like to play billiards, board/card/video games, tennis,
software projects, reading in coffee shops, running, relaxing at
the beach. Less so on the last item, given the time of year.
I’m really good at
I do a pretty good impression of a man squeezing a frog. It sounds
a lot like this except with a deeper pitch and less creepy:

Some of my lesser talents include: Googling, Foosball,
troubleshooting, and parallel parking.
The first things people usually notice about me
When appropriate, my excellent taste in hats.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I like to mix pleasure with practical by reading about software.
Call me what you like, but I really find it interesting. Is it all
that different from a historian reading books on history? Yeah,
there are differences... but it's a pretty good argument if you
don't think about it too much ;)
Most of the movies I like fall under these three genres: sci-fi,
fantasy, and action. Favorites in most recent memory are: Sin City,
Equilibrium, X-Men series, Spiderman series, the first Matrix,
Serenity, the new Batman movies, and Iron Man. Hmm, I guess it
shows I liked comic books as a child.
Lately I've been listening to some Infected Mushroom, Daft Punk,
Offspring, Deftones, Ronald Jenkees, and Coldplay. Generally
speaking I like rock and techno (good background music).
I'll eat almost anything beyond sea food, with a preference towards
sandwich-like items. I have a general adversity towards breakfast.
The six things I could never do without
Commuting for less than three hours a day
Quality roommates
Internet video
Appropriately captioned animals
Pandora
Temperpedic mattress
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How great it'd be to be telekinetic and/or able to teleport, but
more importantly what I'd chose to be my super power.
On a typical Friday night I am
I usually have friends over, we typically play board games or watch
a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I think I've developed a psychologically induced nausea while
flying, triggered by my fear of being sick on a plane. My rational
side is pretty annoyed at this.
You should message me if
You're smart, loving, independent, funny, and interested in meeting
new people. Talk is cheap, send the message. A few minutes of your
time might flourish into a livelong friendship.
