My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Full disclosure: I have a boyfriend/partner that I live with (and he isn't going anywhere), but we are an open-minded, honest couple who acknowledge that attraction and desire to connect with others is inevitable and totally human.

Outspoken introvert.

I consider myself to be honest (sometimes to a fault), and I strive to stay true to myself. At the same time, however, I am working to improve myself (becoming more fit, learning more, reading more, trying more, doing more, experiencing more). I'm trying to make the best of my 20s by discovering and establishing who I am, and becoming comfortable and confident in my skin.

Some may say I'm cynical, but I consider myself a realist; I try hard to see the good in things and people, but shit does happen.

I guess I could put something here about how I like going to shows, camping, listening to music, traveling, hiking, kayaking, painting, playing with my dog, etc... but whose profile doesn't say that?

I go to school for social work, and plan to continue onto a masters program thereafter (but I do have fantasies about being a journalist, a boozy writer, or having some witty stand-up routine).

Yeah, that's my self-summary.

I've been on a Murakami binge lately...George Orwell, Carson McCullers, Kurt Vonnegut, Flannery O'Connor, Carl Sagan, Charles Bukowski, Jhumpa Lahiri, David Sedaris, Chinua Achebe, Miranda July (there's this quote from John Waters that is along the lines of "if you go home with someone and they don't have any books, don't fuck them.")

Gillian Welch, The Tallest Man on Earth, Alt-J, Talking Heads, The Band, Dr. Dog, Leonard Cohen, David Bowie, Nick Cave, Neil Young, The Blur, Middle Brother, Neutral Milk Hotel, St. Vincent, Built to Spill

I geek out hard to film...Miyazaki and Kubrick are my favorite directors, and I've just discovered Ingmar Bergman and Akira Kurosawa. I really like Come and See, Akira, Princess Mononoke, Apocalypse Now, Paprika, Spirited Away, A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, El Topo, Amelie, The Passion of Joan of Arc, Leon The Professional, Dr. Strangelove, Aguirre, The Wrath of God, Me and You and Everyone We Know, Ghost in Shell, The Seventh Seal, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Harold and Maude, most anything with Clint Eastwood, Take This Waltz, Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters, Ghost World, Little Children, Triplets of Belleville, I'm weird and enjoy Lars von Trier's stuff, as well as some Jodorowsky... but the only David Lynch film that I really enjoy is The Elephant Man... and I'm always down for some Big Trouble in Little China.

Strangers with Candy, Game of Thrones, Arrested Development, Carl Sagan's Cosmos, Six Feet Under, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Sopranos, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Bee and Puppycat, Princess Jellyfish, Adventure Time, The X Files, Sherlock, Tim and Eric Awesome Show: Great Job!, True Detective... I'm not above binge-watching How It's Made and vegging out.

This American Life, The Splendid Table, Radiolab, WTF with Marc Maron

Maria Bamford, Marc Maron

Thai, Indian, pho, Ethiopian, bacon, brussel sprouts, and pizza. Seriously, if I could get away with living off of pizza, I would.

Lately I've been playing a lot of point-and-click adventures (gotta love a good story), and I enjoy many other indie games (Fez, The Long Dark), and some AAA games.

H3H3 Productions on YouTube has been my most recent discovery, and holy hell it is the funniest thing I've stumbled upon in a long while.
