My self-summary
I'm active, contemplative, and intelligent. I like to do stuff that uses my head or engages my creativity. I tend to work constantly, but somewhat randomly, on little projects, like writing songs or making games.

When I'm with people, I tend to prefer interacting one-on-one, rather than in a big group. I wouldn't call myself extroverted, but it's pretty easy for me to be social. I like talking to people and trying to understand their situations. I seek out friendships and tend to get close to people pretty quickly if I feel we have things in common.

I study economics. When I tell people this, people usually tell me to give them a stock tip. Ah, if only they knew the difference between economics and finance! I'm interested in understanding society - how it shapes us, and how we shape it.
What I’m doing with my life
While I spend a lot of time thinking about my work, I try not to take it too seriously. In warm months, I try to get outside and play ultimate frisbee. Around two years ago I started playing the guitar, and that has been a surprisingly wonderful experience.

I tend to always be doing something. I prefer activities such as games or going out to watching tv shows or movies - though I definitely do that, too, on occasion.

"When I grow up" I want to be a professor - although I'm hoping that this can be achieved without growing up too much.
I’m really good at
The only area where I feel I have some kind of natural talent is teaching. I've always liked teaching, and I've found that people have an easy time understanding my explanations

I'm pretty good at math, but I believe that anyone can be "good at math" if they are exposed to it in the right way.
The first things people usually notice about me
I listen to them when they talk.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Book: The Giver, Guns Germs and Steel, anything by Issac Asimov
Movie: Memento, Men in Black, Up, Fight Club; my favorite love movie is Moonrise Kingdom, a movie which somehow has Bill Murray, Bruce Willis, and Edward Norton in a film with no car chases.
TV: True detective, futurerama, attack on titan, Rick and Morty
Music: Gorillaz, Linkin Park, Neutral Milk Hotel, Rebelution, Ben Folds Five, Pink Floyd, Guster
Food: Chinese, Ethiopian, Indian, Thai, Korean, Vietnamese... I think 'foreign' cuisine is generally better than American food, but I don't hate on American food either. Wings are delicious, as is a good burger. We don't really do enough with vegetables, though.
The six things I could never do without
1. My lungs
2. My brain-stem
3. My kidneys
4. My circulatory system
5. My intestines
6. My liver
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How it came to be the case that Dennis Rodman became our national ambassador to North Korea. How much contingent knowledge you need about the world in order to have that fact make sense.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends.
