My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
In between jobs and kind of broke right now, just so that you know. Who could resist, right? Aside from that:

- Patient
- A good listener
- Somewhat funny, if we have the same sense of humor
- Actually more comfortable in jeans and at the dive bar, but don't mind the flip side tux/gala event etc, etc. I mean, jeans are more comfortable, and you go to the dive because you want to.
- A home cook
- A good friend

So, for a while I've been thinking that I need to bring myself up to the social darwinian standards of what I perceive is the dating pool here. Meaning, for some reason I believed that if, and only if, one is an overachiever with bright prospects and at a fantastic place in life can one then date. And then I got tired of the self-pity and decided to take a chance.

If you absolutely must travel and go to fab restaurants and stuff, I'm not your man right now. If you'd like to share a bottle of red, a home cooked meal and some Nina in the background, as friends or lovers (in the literal sense of the word, not the clandestine one) then perhaps I can be your man, or your friend. Here comes your man!

While I like sports, and try to stay somewhat in shape, I don't usually go to games. I'm a lot more likely to go to a museum or le cinema a la Rue E.

I've put out a lot of information about my current situation because I don't want this to be a surprise, and I understand it can be a deal breaker for many. I respect that. We all have our wants and needs, and hopefully there's someone for everyone, or at least that's what those chick flicks I never watch seem to imply. Or so I've been told.

That said, I am solving my problems on my own, and no, I am not looking for help in this department. I'm looking for new friends, and perhaps a romantic partner.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to enter the field of front end web development and leave the field of office generalisimo (figured a pun on Franco would be funnier that generalist) and also trying to become an entrepreneur. Not giving up on either, ever.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Putting together a meal with what's left in the fridge.
Cooking in general.
Coming up with a funny comment every now and then.
Finding good movies and bands.
Diffusing situations.
Remembering pretty much every bit of irrelevant, and sometimes relevant, bit of information that has ever entered the old noodle.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Before anyone notices me I've already scanned the room and sized everyone up, so there, take that James Bond and Jason Bourne!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Favorite is what comes next and you'll really, really enjoy, and it'll blow your mind. And the stuff you keep revisiting, too, I guess. But I like to discover things that are either new new, or just new to me.

Like, mmm, dunno, got 'Beggars' Banquet' and 'Exile on Main Street' only a couple of years ago, and wow!

Or movies I haven't seen (Up, and Wall-e are in my list, perhaps because of my friends' kids). I like pretty much all food. As a matter of fact, I think I adore it.

And philosophical blah aside, I like TV on the Radio, LCD Soundsystem, Bowie, Radiohead, Talking Heads, Jay Z, Raymond Carver, John Updike, Roberto Bolaño!, Sonic Youth, Pixies (there's no "the"), Wilco, you know, the indie mainstream... I strongly recommend 'Just Kids' by Patti Smith, btw.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, Wordpress, Drupal, CSS, Git and how to master them.
Food
Why can't movies also open in DC, and not just in LA and NY?
Why I never got to see LCD Soundsystem live.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Yes, I am, indeed. Are you?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have two Ugly Dolls, one in my sofa (romantic advisor) and one by my computer (business/coding advisor, much smaller).

I'm phasing out round containers in my cupboards and fridge so that I can maximize space.
