My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey, I'm an avid traveller, an aspiring foodie and handy with a camera. After a stint in the wilderness that I call singledom, I thought I'd give this site a whirl again since it worked pretty well for me a while ago.

With a bit more free time on my hands following my latest little getaway and a new job, I'm getting out and enjoying life more. More recently however, I've come to realise that as good as it is to enjoy life's experiences, it is always better when you have got someone there to share the journeys, adventures, experiences and memories with you; while your group can be a blast, there's always going to be those moments where you find yourself on your own reflecting a little...

Which brings me to OKCupid...

One issue I'm finding is that when going out with groups of friends - most of whom are are in relationships - is that meeting new people can be quite a bit harder since you're out to have fun with the people that you're with. For that reason, and because bars and clubs don't seem to be the ideal place to meet new people, following a hiatus from the dating scene I'm giving this a whirl on a spur of the moment decision.

I'm friendly and very easy going, so don't hesitate to send me a message since if you've got this far and like what you've read then I'm sure we're going to get along. I look forward to speaking with you soon!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm working hard and always planning towards that next overseas adventure; I love to get away and travel when I can, whether it be a roadtrip or a massive overseas adventure.

I also love getting out on weekends and exploring, and trying new food and bars!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.

Singing when no-one's around to hear me (I'm told I'm alright at karaoke, though I can't be sure if people are just trying to be nice)
Being a good friend; I've been told that I give good advice (and I'm not too bad at taking it either).
Trivia (my mind is a repository for all sorts of stuff, some interesting, some useless)
Maintaining a sense of direction and reading maps
Maintaining a happy and upbeat attitude
Planning my own interesting and fun-filled holidays
Parallel parking
I've discovered that I have a bit of a knack for being able to take a reasonably good selfie, and no, contrary to what that recent study said I'm not a psychopath...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I look younger than I am (that's from other people; not me, I swear!)
My height
That I'm extremely friendly and easy going. I can be serious when the occasion asks for it, but I'm always looking for a good laugh.

My accent; though some people tend to notice it more than others and some don't notice it at all (for those wondering, according to some I apparently have an English accent, though I have absolutely no idea where I got it from).

I was also told by a girl recently that I apparently have great calves... I'm not really sure why that would be the first thing that someone would notice about me or whether that's a major selling point here but hey, I'll take what I can get!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Having recently changed to a job that involves a fair amount of time on the train, I spend a LOT of time reading. You name it I probably read it; books, blogs, newspapers, magazines, OKC profiles... As for books, I love a good crime-thriller and well written/researched non-fiction works. I'll also read anything by Bill Bryson (and if you haven't read A Short History of Nearly Everything then make sure you pick up a copy; it will blow your mind).

Movies... Well, I can't say I have a favourite (there's just too many), but I don't think you can go wrong with anything directed by Christopher Nolan, Ben Affleck, Clint Eastwood, Danny Boyle, Sam Mendes, David Fincher, Jason Reitman and Martin Scorscese. Also, any Pixar movie prior to Cars 2.

TV shows are tough, since my tastes are changing. These days I tend to go for really well written/directed/acted (though generally dark) stuff. As for TV channels (though I don't watch much actual TV these days), I enjoy stuff on the National Geographic/Discovery channels quite a bit. I'm currently hooked on Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, True Detective, The Walking Dead (though I'm starting to get over this one), Boardwalk Empire, Homeland, Girls Top Gear and House of Cards, though I can't go past an old Simpsons or Futurama episode; nothing can match the earlier seasons for good and consistent laughs and satire.

Music? My iPod has just about anything and everything in it, from Puccini to the Prodigy. What I listen to depends on my mood at the time, which is anything except trance/hardcore, screamo-rock, over-produced and auto-tuned garbage (which depressingly accounts for a lot of mainstream music these days), dubstep and death metal. I generally dislike country too,; listening to a lot of it on a 2 week US roadtrip a few years back I quickly learned that the song-writing is actually quite good, if you like songs about rediscovered love, drinking and pickup trucks. My profile name's based off a particular song that I like. If you know/like the group I think we'll probably get along!

Food: Anything that's healthy and tasty (though I can't do some spices/chillies), and I'm always open to new and different things!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Good food/wine/coffee
Interesting/stimulating conversations
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Travel, where to go next and how to go about organising it.

Trying to work out the best answers to some of the really loaded questions on this site.

Wondering why my personality on this site is 'more mathematical' and 'less adventurous'. I was terrible at maths in school (though I got a lot better when doing a science degree), and I'd definitely consider myself to be more adventurous!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
A typical Friday night? I don't really have one, since they vary all the time. They alternate between dinner/drinks with friends, the movies, checking out major events or just chilled out in front of a DVD/youtube/Xbox.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm actually 6 foot two and a bit (6'3" with shoes on).

I can't give away everything about myself here however, so say hello and if things go well then you're bound to find out eventually!

You like what you've read so far! I'm not here to play games, I'm here because I genuinely want to find someone who I can spend time with getting to know (especially over good food, coffee and/or a few drinks) and someone that I'd love to call my girlfriend. I should add that good humour gets serious brownie points!
