I am semi-new to Northern California having moved to Chico just over 5 years ago. I am still discovering how great it is up here as opposed to So-Cal where I lived on and off for around thirty years. I have a lot of things I am interested in, from history to politics to subjects too many to count. I love a good conversation, a good book, movie or thrift store shopping. I have a job I enjoy helping people and I am fairly active in my Church.
I am not looking for a one night stand, but rather someone who I can talk with, do things with and become a friend with. I would like to get married someday, I just haven't found the right woman yet!

I am working at a job I like that helps people. I am reading a lot of good and sometimes not so good books about many different things.
I am trying to improve my health by walking and watching what I eat.
I am going to movies both Hollywood blockbusters and "smaller" films that I think are often as good or better then the "big"movies.
I am trying to make more friends and overcome my shyness as I think the more friends you have the better.
I am new to online dating so I am trying to learn the right way to succeed at it.
Finally, I am looking for someone to have fun with and if it develops into a relationship I would like that.

Listening, which is part of my job, helping people which I enjoy doing as people have helped me in some of my darkest days and I feel like I should return the favor.
Learning as I am always trying to learn more about almost anything I happen across.
Talking, I love a good conversation about almost anything. The back and forth and the making me craft good, polite arguments if I disagree.

My appearance of course. Then probably my glasses as they are fairly big on my face.
Hopefully, my smile and kind eyes.
And though I hate to admit this the fact that I have little if any fashion sense. I.E. sometimes what I choose to wear is not the best thing to wear fashion wise. I like to be comfortable.

Books: I have quite a few, but here are a couple. The Bible, The Foundation Trilogy(three books)by Isaac Asimov, Animal Farm and 1984 by George Orwell and quite a few others. I have read and enjoyed so many books!
Movies:12 Angry Men with Henry Fonda, Lee J. Cobb and many other major stars. The Apartment with Shirley Maclaine and Jack Lemmon. The Empire Strikes Back! starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamil and Carrie Fisher. My Fair Lady with Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison. I have more but I don't want the list to be so long that you get bored reading it.
Shows(tv) Star Trek-the original. And the movies I-VI which I consider just longer episodes. 2Broke Girls. Mike & Molly, Get Smart. Lost in Space-the first show I really liked. While it was often campy some of the episodes are as good as some Star Trek episodes I think.
Shows(plays) Jesus Christ Superstar-which I acted in. The Music Man, Sound of Music-which I also acted in. A Midsummers Night Dream by William Shakespeare.The Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare. An aside, the tv show "Moonlighting" starring Cybil Sheppard and Bruce Willis did a great version of it on their show. They even used most of the original dialogue!
Music;Classic Rock i.e. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Arrowsmith, Meatloaf. Some Disco-The Bee Gees, Tavares, Donna Summer. And I am not sure how to classify them, The Commodores.
Food; Chinese, Mexican, Italian, meatloaf, a good steak, bbq ribs, an In & Out Double, Double(cheeseburger) Brussels Sprouts, Broccoli, Mushrooms. Actually, I like almost anything that isn't moving too fast. And chocolate!

My brother, my Bible, my Church family, lot's of books to read, a desire to learn new things, friends.

Current events, good books I have read or am reading now. If I have walked enough today? Keeping my apartment clean and picked up. Bills.

Working at a job I enjoy.

You have a caring heart and are not looking for a one night stand, but want a friend and maybe someone to do things with that are fun. And that they are willing to live without needing to find their "soul mate" instantly. But, can be patient with my faults and accepting of any differences.
You are looking for good conversations about many things.
And you are looking for someone who tries not to make promises he can't keep. And keeps his commitments even if it is hard to do so.
Don't mind being with someone who may take some time to reveal his feelings but, when he does you can be sure that they are real and not part of some game.
