I am unfinished, determined, and darkly humourous.

My Self-Summary

Hi. I'm definately busy, but enjoying it. Life is pretty good, and honestly I've learned to appreciate doing things more now that I have to budget time to do them.

I tend to be the quiet one in the group, not because I have nothing to say, or am I shy. In fact, I used to get in trouble for talking too much. I learned to only speak when it matters. My mouth can and does get away from me sometimes. It works out though, since I dont blush easily.

I don't like pina coladas or getting caught in the rain. I do like a good single malt scotch and sittin' on the dock of the bay, watching the tide roll in.

I Don't watch TV much anymore, except sports and The Shield. My video gaming days are closing down fast too. Guitar Hero is still fun for a diversion though. Basically I'm the reluctant adult. Life could be a heckuva lot worse though.

The club scene isn't much my thing anymore. More of a pub guy.

At one point in my life I was Eric Foreman 2000. Now, I am still a geek, but a much more refined geek. I'll still watch Star Wars whenever I can, but I really don't need the action figures. If you do though, I'll think it's cool, don't worry.

I did my undergrad at USC. History Major and Philosophy minor. I can BS with you about anything. Sometimes I wish I were a chemistry major though. They know all the cool party tricks.

What I’m doing with my life

Law School. Probably end up going into Criminal Law. You know, soulless get the murders off stuff. Or maybe I'll be like those guys on the fake court shows and really try to make pseudo-political statements with every case I take. Maybe do Tort Law and do a few cheesy TV commercials.

Basically I'm looking for a good job for a little while so I have the stability to do the things in life I really want to do. Like retire at 50 and figure out what I want to be when I grow up. If that doesn't work, I'll be the best damn lawyer I can be without worrying too much about whether my Jag can outrun your Benz.

I'm going into each day with a goal in mind. It's why I put determined in my 3 words that describe me. This means I do nothing that would interfere with this goal. Every move I make in life right now has a reason.

As much as I'd love to be the wild and crazy bad boy I can't. Personally or professionally This doesn't mean I am anti-social. Far from it. I'm still going to go out with my friends, watch the game, throw back a couple of beers, and maybe take in a show or two. I just have to be mindful that even a private practice attorney in a small state is a public figure, and my future career really does depend on my present behavior. Yep, us future lawyers have to be fine upstanding citizens. Imagine that.

I'm slowly starting to love it though. It's liberating believe it or not.

I’m really good at

being a jerk from time to time, embracing my inner geek, reading between the lines, writing non-profile things, jumping in over my head, and getting my straight busted by a runner runner full house every time.

I'm pretty good at fixing my computer when it breaks, but I won't fix yours. I don't get paid enough for that anymore.

I'm also a great bartender, and even better cook...

I'm a pro at finding fun free stuff to do.

I can hold my end of any conversation, and sometimes pick up the slack for the other side if necassary.

The first things people usually notice about me

I've been told its my eyes. Or not. I've also been told it's my normally calm demeanor. It takes quite a bit to anger me, although my sense of humor runs to the sarcastic, which can seem pissy at times.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books - Haunted, Choke, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
movies - Airplane!, 300, Sin City, The Princess Bride
music - Butch Walker/Marvelous 3, Cowboy Mouth, GNR, 90's grunge/alt
food - anything i know how to cook basically

The six things I could never do without

westlaw, lexis nexis, private time, cheap oil prices, my left hand, the internet

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The future for me, why people do the things they do, why I do the things I do, my power animal (spot the reference get a cookie).

On a typical Friday night I am

Right now: Studying
Last year: Working
Soon: who knows

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I once had a job running background checks on people. There are certain companies I will never deal with because of this.

You should message me if

you want to talk
you want to grab a beer
you want to comiserate about the Gamecocks
you are a geek too
you know something about Contracts and/or Torts
you are really really bored
You SHOULD NOT message me if you intend to partake of ilicit substances in my presence, or keep them in your car/home/anywhere else I may end up. I'm all about the 'legalize it' movement, but I have way too much to lose over a nickel bag right now.
