My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hello. My name is Lucas. I am an ex Army combat medic veteran who has deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and am now looking forward to going to New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. I am fairly well read and well travelled, but look forward to more. I have been to Germany, Italy, Austria, Peru, Holland, Mexico... well... and Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait... yada yada... almost doesn't count. I am looking for a creative minded free spirit of a woman to spend my time with, bounce ideas off, and even enjoy a relationship with if it happens. I know what I want, but I'm realistic as well. No sense in my optimism smothering me right off the bat. Been there. Done that. I kinda have an unhealthy obsession with blue/green eyed redheads. The world kinda stops in their presence. Yeah. It's pretty bad. Film school is absorbing most of my time right now, but I'm emotionally available while I figure out the frantic physically available part.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Flying by the seat of my pants mostly. I'll be doing the film school thing and then going on to pursuing a career in the film industry. That said... I really try not to stress. Life is too short. I am very tight with my family and they have been a wonderful example for my life. My parents have been together for 33 years and raised a fun family... if that gives you any idea at all. In a perfect world, I'd emulate that in my own life.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I like to think I'm a decent writer and I'll only get better. I enjoy a rousing go of karaoke. I will also beat the pants off you in Words With Friends. I have almost mastered Settlers of Catan and am always on the hunt for a good board game to conquer.
The first things people usually notice about me

That I am one of the few that rocks a beard and isn't a hipster about it?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: I am an avid reader. I loved House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski, White Noise and the Post Modern works of Don Delillo, beat poetry of Ginsberg and Karouac, and the fun sci-fi of Michael Crichton. Sadly... I admit that I got suckered into The Hunger Games. Women and their wiles... lol... and horribly easy to read teen love triangles.

Movies: The mind swims. My favorites are usually anything by Alfred Hitchcock, Fritz Lang, Ridley Scott, Christopher Nolan or Woody Allen... except his latest stuff. I don't need a film to rock my world or shake my foundations, but I do really enjoy actually having to use my brain during a movie. My time in Germany really turned me on to a lot of German and French films as well.

Music: I'm pretty old school. None of that classic glam rock nonsense. I'm talkin' 90's indy rock. Nirvana, Offspring, Alanis, The Foo Fighters, Beck, Weezer... etc. Also, I never enjoyed techno until I went to Germany. Minimal techno, electro, and dubstep is just too much fun when done right. Germany does it right. Bone rattling bass and a rocking system for Paul Kalkbrenner, Deadmau5, and Skrillex is damn near godliness. I'm also very down for musicals and plays. Love 'em.

Food: Europe spoiled me and made me rethink American processed food completely. I really have to overhaul my eating habits and get active. For really reals.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Silence. A good black gel pen. An unruled piece of paper. House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski. A San Francisco 49er hat. And a cup of coffee.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
the future. It's so scary sometimes. Which hopefully doesn't come across too much in my art. It's not a feeling I like to portray, but it certainly is a practical and useful tool for drama.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If I am not catching a movie at the local theater then hopefully I am belting some karaoke at a dive. Or reading. Or drawing. Or writing. I'm fairly useful with my time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Hmm. I am actually a little terrified about my uncertain future. I'm throwing everything out there for film school and just hoping that something sticks.

... you're a fun easy going girl that doesn't need to plan everything a lifetime in advance. Live a little. Life is not a big exercise in control. Relax.
