My self-summary
ME - Art, science, instinct, creation...
Analytical but prone to thinking in little spurts of poetic rhythm.
Loyal. Smart. Cool.
Never EVER want to lose a childlike wonder at things in the world.
To climb mountains and swim in the ocean.
...
Reflect quietly, and shout across the street to the neighbors about the Phillies game.
...
Plan a trip and then just get in the car going nowhere in particular.
...
Drawn to high places, to walk and climb until I'm on top of something big, satisfyingly exhausted, soaking in a grand, new perspective.
...
LUCKY, like winning lottery ticket lucky to have been in three truly great creative scenes:
The DAVES - Philadelphia
Beru Revue - Philadelphia
The Practical Theater Company - Chicago

Have a son, lives and works in NYC.
and a daughter, in high school.
Both absolutely incredible people I feel lucky to know.

I know what I like, which interestingly enough turns out to be a bit of just about everything.

(A quick note about status and seemingly related issues - Living apart, as SINGLE (Co-parenting and friendly) for years, and so my ascribed status, but still legally married/separated - for the sole reason of employment based health insurance - an issue that is on the verge of being resolved once and for all)

So...

I am looking for the same things as pretty much everyone here....

Looking to make connection, be CONNECTED.

Easy, simple, but nothing casual about it.

Complementary, Complimentary

not in an enormous hurry, just pointed to the future, taking one moment at a time.

looking for YOU...

Deep roots, light as air, who can find her way in the dark, turn a phrase on its ear, be swept up in melody interwoven, seize light and shadow, dance the sweaty disheveled erotic tangle.
What I’m doing with my life
Swimming in the deep end.

Soaking in it.

Soaking it in.

Working in a hospital.

Playing in a band.
I’m really good at
Making things
Fixing things
Solving Problems
Folding Paper
Seeing Music
Constructing music
Finding silver linings.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Does this really say anything?
I doubt it.
but...
anyway:

Music
I like all kinds of music. YES, including country. I can say that I have truly enjoyed GOOD music of every variety that I've heard!
...OK, fine, I'll name a few. XTC. Bob Dylan. Pixies. The Beta Band. Adrian Belew. Led Zeppelin. Brian Eno. Ace of Base. Cesaria Evora. Manu Chao. David Bowie. Talking Heads. The Clash. Johnny Cash. Jimi Hendrix. George Jones. Joni Mitchell. KD Laing. KT Tunstal. Tegan and Sara. The Dandy Warhols. Arcade Fire. Yes. Van Halen. Vampire Weekend. The Strokes. The Bird and the Bee. Sugarcubes. Horace Silver, Frank Sinatra. Radiohead. Brian Jonestown Massacre. Benny Goodman...Enough, right!? You get the idea...wait! Beck! How could I forget Beck! Someone just told me I forgot Hank Williams. OK. Hank Williams. And George Jones. The Ting Tings.

Movies
There are way too many, of course, but: Pulp Fiction, Cool Hand Luke, Amadeus, The Dark Knight, Raising Arizona, Motocycle Diaries, Fargo, Mash, The Godfather, Planes Trains and Automobiles, North By Northwest, Vertigo, Just on and on, Dark, Light, Scary, Thought Provoking, Funny... Just last night happened across Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Cracked me UP, in a real heady way.

Books
The usual school classics like Catcher in the Rye, One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, Lord of the Rings, Sometimes a Great Notion, On the Road, The Grapes of Wrath (Love Steinbeck, Vonnegut, Bradbury...), ... with a dose of entertainment from Stephen King, Isaac Asimov and others...
The six things I could never do without
Guitars, music
Friends, family.
Wilderness.
BIG cities.
New things, people.
The right tool for the right job.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to LIVE, how to work and play, how to get more art into this responsible life, how to be the most positive, competent, interesting, inspiring, all over everything.

How to TRAVEL more. In dreams I jettison enough to keep a very simple home base, and get GOING.

Why a pretty fair amount of women I am attracted to (through whatever you can describe here anyway!) seem to be in New York or Toronto, with a large smattering of Boston. What's that all about? Not very conducive, convenient! Haha!

Trying to understand why so many people need to see things in such black and white terms, when what exists are actually shades of gray.

(and I'm not talking about that silly book.)

Speaking of color palettes, how all these profiles, self descriptions, are only small snippets of what is genuinely there. How so often we write what we wish rather than what is. How these questions describe something rather more like guidelines than rules to our interests, our intentions, our desires...

Who, where, what you are.

Roots.

On a typical Friday night I am
No typical Friday nights
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Ethereal dreamer

where did you go?

It's you I'd like to get to know.
