I am a loyal transient, spontaneous planner, and a shy extrovert.
My Self-Summary
Born and raised in the woods amongst the ocean and mountains of the
far north west corner of Washington state.
I love story telling, boat riding, wine drinking, letter writing,
and laughing.
I can speak Italian, especially when encouraged by an Italian or a
fair amount of wine. I'd like to learn Spanish or French. I love
Airplanes and Airports and most transient places intrigue me.
What I’m doing with my life
Well I just moved back to Brooklyn from Berlin a few months ago so
I've been adjusting to living back in the states. I work at a
gallery but when I'm not there I try to get out to other gallery
openings, shows, and exhibits. Lots of dinners and drinks with
friends with the occasional weekend trip to visit other friends.
Mostly I've just been enjoying myself.
I’m really good at
keeping in touch with people, blushing when I'm trying not to,
cooking, acquiring freckles, listening, noticing small gestures,
trying new things, discussing ideas, and sending mail the old
fashioned way.
The first things people usually notice about me
I think that depends a lot on the situation and the people. Maybe
my hair?
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
These tend to be long lists but I'll try to do a shortened
version.
Some favorite authors: Milan Kundera, John Cheever, Italo Calvino,
Margaret Atwood, Miranda July, Gabriel García Márquez, Susan
Sontag, Paul Auster, Truman Capote,...
Movies: Il Postino, Vertigo, Annie Hall, You Me and Everyone We
Know, The Planet Earth Series, The Royal Tenenbaums, Who Framed
Roger Rabbit?, and I love Mad Men, The Wire, and of course 30 Rock
and The Office as far as shows go.
Music: Bluegrass, Blues, Indie, Classic Rock, Hip Hop, some
Electronic and House (I did live in Berlin), and most anything
French.
If I'm ever in a bad mood Graceland by Paul Simon usually get me
out of it.
Radio/Podcasts (cause they're great): This American Life, RadioLab,
The Moth, Savage Love, Stuff You Should Know, and NPR's Wait Wait
Don't Tell Me.
Foods: Moroccan, Thai, Indian, Mexican, Italian, and I love a
potluck or dinner party. Those are the best.
The six things I could never do without
trains, planes, people I love, coffee, tea, cameras, sincerity,
laughter, forgetting, and a good read. I think this is the type of
list that could either be a few very obvious things or a gigantic
list of obscure ideas of things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
stories, the future, places I want to go, sex, the what ifs...
On a typical Friday night I am
lettin' my hair down
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Ok so I'm a little nervous about a big commitment in my life right
now but, I'm also not into one night stands. Mostly I'm interested
in meeting people and being more open minded about dating in a
city.
