My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a geek and proud of it. I also love camping and bushwalking and things and I like to work in the great outdoors.

I love cooking and entertaining, there is nothing more fun than giving a great dinner party!!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Attempting to learn Spanish. I'm a great believer in tourists who speak English as their first language getting off their lazy behinds and having a go.

I'm a geologist. I work FIFO in the Pilbara. I love having a job that gets me out of the office. The view from my "desk" (ie. the tray of the ute) is always changing and the Pilbara is a beautiful, if somewhat hot, dry, cyclone-y, dusty and fly ridden place.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Filling my time with way too many crafty things. I like sewing or crocheting, jewerelly making or making sweets. It's always something new after a few weeks.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I really have no idea.

Though If you're into the same kind of things as me it will be the Firefly ( or Stargate or Big Bang Theory or Buffy or Doctor Who etc) quote on my t- shirt.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
This is definitely the most important section!

I love reading, I used to mostly read fantasy but have recently started to branch out, resulting in my current BookDepository addiction. Some favourite authors would be J.K Rowling, Robert Jordan, Robin Hobb, George R.R Martin, Richard Dawkins, Douglas Adams, John Green and Isaac Asimov.

I am really into Science Fiction TV - Firefly, Stargate (SG1 of course), Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, Game of Thrones (though thats more fantasy) I started a sci-fi club when i was at uni. Also Black Books is the best. And have you ever seen The Good Life?

I like listening to music but am never that motivated to go out and get my own or really settle into any one style. I tend to like what the people around me are listening to at the time.

I love cooking and really good food. In particular I really enjoy trying out new recipes and making things like pasta, curries, croissants and candy all from scratch.

When I have too much time on my hands themed 3 course meals or gigantic scale models of my house in gingerbread are likely to appear.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Hmmm not going to get all sciency on you. The main one I'd honestly just have to say positive human contact.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.

That thing that I have been meaning to get around to doing and know that I'm still not going to get up and do.

Sometimes I worry about how even though I am well educated most of my skills would not be transferrable to other times. e.g. 1800's can't be a governess because I don't speak french or german, can't do maths without a calculator etc. Yep i would be the scullery maid.
Then i realise, hey time travel isn't real. ...yet

Yes I still hold hope for time travel for two reasons
1 maybe only a few ppl utilize it very discreetly
Or 2 the popular theory that once a time travel device has been invented we will only be able to travel back to that time, not before. ( goodbye ancient Egypt holiday)

How I wish physics didn't make faster than light travel impossible. ( though to the theoretical physicists out there finding differently shaped bubble loopholes... You are my heroes, keep it up)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Seriously though, this is like asking me what I'm doing on any night. The answers are incredibly diverse. I can tell you I probably won't be at a nightclub but other than that ... Probably hanging with my friends or family.
Though recently every second friday is Firefly RPG night.
Or tucked up in bed at work.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
Basically if you want to.

I'm terrible at chatting online. If you're interested we should meet up. Coffee, dinner, whatever.
