I am awesome, super-awesome, and mega-awesome.

My Self-Summary

I'm Chris. I'm from southern California, but I am currently attending BYU in Utah. I like music, especially rock and metal, but I'm pretty open minded about other genres. I like videogames, and watching movies. I tend to play videogames more when I'm by myself, and watch movies when I'm with friends. I'm always up for trying new things as well, so hit me up. I like camping, hiking, paintballing, and other outdoors-y stuff, but its actually been a while since I've gotten around to doing any of that. Really, anything is fun when in good company. I'm pretty quiet and reserved, so don't be offended if I don't talk much around you. I'm usually like that around everybody, even people I know, so don't be surprised.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a BYU student, I still haven't picked a major because I'm an indecisive bum. I've thought about a lot of things, biology, law, linguistics, political science, but so far nothing quite seems to fit. It's one of my goals to figure that out in the near future. I'm also working over the summer, will be doing school full time in the fall. Beyond that, I just like to have fun and meet people. There's nothing better than spending time with good friends.

I’m really good at

ummm... that's a tough question. Anything I say will make me sound vain. I guess I'm a smart guy, I'm a good listener, I am pretty good at some video games, I can cook decently... what more can I say? I sound like a douchebag rattling on about myself.

The first things people usually notice about me

I really have no clue, you would have to tell me. Maybe that I'm pretty quiet a first, that seems to be one that I get a lot. Beyond that, I haven't really heard much commentary on the matter.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books - Lord Of The Rings, The Alphabet Of Manliness, Catch-22, Animal Farm, all of the Harry Potter books, Dragonlance, the Bible (for all of the hilarious Old Testament stories), The Alchemist, Legend of Drizzt, Edgar Allen Poe, H.P. Lovecraft, What Dreams May Come, Nietzsche, Ayn Rand, etc etc. I pretty much like anything that makes me think, or that has an awesome story. Or, that makes me laugh.

Movies - Zoolander, Orange County, Wedding Crashers, The Waterboy, Pan's Labrynth, Memento, Elite Squad, Mallrats, Jay and Silent Bob movies, The Matrix, Braveheart, The Evil Dead II, Dawn Of The Dead, Pixar movies in general, The Corpse Bride, Life Is Beautiful, The Chronicles of Riddick. Really, I enjoy just about any sort of comedy. I also really like movies that make you think, or that have a strong emotional impact, or that break the mold a bit. I think Pan's Labrynth is probably the most recent movie of that sort that I've seen, it was awesome.

Music - Metallica, Iron Maiden, Opeth, Dream Theater, Alice In Chains, Jeff Buckley, Porcupine Tree, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rush, Black Sabbath, etc etc. I love classic rock and metal, but I'm down with almost anything. If it's original then it's probably worthwhile. I like me some punk, jazz, rap, classical, even a little country.

Food - love Mexican food. Brazilian food is also awesome, I love Guarana soda, and brazilian barbeque is amazing. Chinese is good, Japanese once in a while, I'm mostly down with anything. I love to try new restaurants, and to experiment different types of food. Benihana's is really good... there's also a mexican place in San Diego called El Indio that is fantastic.

The six things I could never do without

My bed, I love to sleep, even though I don't really do it enough. I also love my family, they've stuck with me through all the years. My few really close friends are definitely important. uhmm.... Little Ceasar's five dollar pizzas are pretty stellar. Carpet is good too. You never really realize how awesome carpet is until you have it taken away. Finally, I love the internet, probably couldn't go without it.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

life in general, what I can do to improve myself, etc etc. I work by myself, so my mind usually wanders all over the place as I work, and I can think up some weird, philosophical crap if I want. Or, I just think about how much I want to go home. Either way. When I'm by myself my mind tends to go all over the place.

On a typical Friday night I am

Probably either chilling at home, or chilling with friends. I prefer the chilling with friends option. I don't have a set activity, but if possible I like to get out of the house and do something special.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I can't think of anything off the top of my head... if you're curious feel free to send me a message and ask. I'll do my best to respond.

You should message me if

You're up for a good time, if you don't mind me being a little quiet at first, if you're a cool person... really, I don't care, just message me, I don't mind. I don't mind talking, regardless of who you are. I'm always up for meeting new people, and find people different from myself to be fascinating.
