Well, I like most things about the world, so this may be a very
long list!
The first thing you should know is that I'm a HUGE GEEK. I am
pretty deep into the whole fandom/fanfiction culture -- BUT, wait,
don't go! -- I'm NOT going to talk about it endlessly or force it
on anyone, and I don't read "id-fic" (fiction that is
self-indulgent). I just appreciate good writing, and I like that
fanfiction a) is free, and b) has a MUCH broader range of material
published -- imagine what book publishing would be like if there
was no market concerns! If authors could truly do their craft
unrestricted by "sorry, this genre isn't selling right now" and
"sorry, we'll only buy your book if you make character x
straight/white/younger" and "sorry, your book just doesn't FIT any
of our markets".
Okay rant over, I've said my piece, I'll shut up now.
*ziiiip*
Books:
I'm a voracious reader (teachers have said so my entire life), and
I love everything Lois McMaster Bujold, Diana Wynne Jones, and
Ursula K. Le Guin have ever written.
Individual books/series I've loved are: To Kill A Mockingbird, The
Secret Garden, Mother of Demons, Shade's Children, Green Monkey
Dreams, Gaslight Dogs, A Companion to Wolves, The Time Traveller's
Wife, Hatchet, The Good Women of China, and the Tripods
Trilogy.
I also have a To Read list that is a million and one books long.
=D
I play video games, and my favourites are usually RPGs. I only play
console games (my computer is for other things, yess
preccccioussss), and I'm not sure about multiplayer. I also like to
/watch/ people play games. =)
Anime is a big hobby of mine too, but I'm NOT some "OMG NARUTOOOO"
weaboo fan. I hate being elitist, but there is a stereotype people
think of when they picture "anime fan", and that's NOT me.
I like anything from Studio Ghibli or Satoshi Kon. Individual anime
I like are: House of Five Leaves, Saiunkoku Monogatari, Ghost in
the Shell, Natsume Yuujinchou, Seirei no Moribito, Black Lagoon,
Revolutionary Girl Utena, Ouran High school Host Club, Ookiku
Furikabutte, and a lot more!
I read a bunch of webcomics and manga too, but much more
casually.
I can get into just about any music, but the genres I like most at
the moment are indie, trance, techno/house, and dubstep. I pay no
attention to who made what music though, so I can't really talk
about it? I'll happily listen to YOU talk about it though!
I like all types of food. No. Exceptions.
