My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I enjoy: books of various types, zoos and aquariums, Wikipedia, Dripping Springs® vodka, schadenfreude, Reddit, board games, science, firearms, hiking, and documentaries. I particularly like the juxtaposition of nature and man-made stuff (especially when the stuff is decrepit !).

I dislike: reality TV, Android phones, cilantro, overlarge pickup trucks, and the Myers-Briggs personality test (don't get me fucking started).

My two annual charitable contributions are to a Manatee rescue organization and the ACLU.

My favorite patients to get at my job (paramedic) are older folks who lived through WWII and will tell me about it, and kids (I worked in the pediatric ER/trauma-center before I got on the ambulance).

Some of my heros are Richard Feynman, Atul Gawande, Carl Sagan, Kurt Vonnegut, Urdnot Wrex, and Max (from Where The Wild Things Are).

Fair warning: Don't ever bring up the Oxford comma when I've been drinking.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
From Austin, did undergrad in Seattle, moved back to Austin and became a paramedic. Just landed my dream job, so going to be doing that for a few more years. After that, maybe RN, Physician Assistant, or (gulp) MD ?

I loved Seattle and miss it terribly; I try and get back there a few times a year.

Life-enrichment wise, I'd like to learn how to cook at an advanced level, how to pick a lock, how to do the olympic lifts safely and correctly, and how to play my favorite Beatles songs on the piano.

Also, I am adding words here to increase my exposure in your search results. Look at me.

No, really. Fucking look at me.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Games that start with R (Risk, Rock Band, Russian Roulette, etc) , starting IVs (anyone hungover ?), procrastination, entertaining myself (the concept of "being bored" is mystifying to me).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've been told many times "You're the only person I know that actually goes 'Hah Hah Hah' when you laugh."

Music: Orbital, The Beatles, The Police, Green Day, Misfits, The Smiths, Kanye, and various Jazz stations on Pandora ("Bebop" is my current favorite).
Just starting to get into The Refused (apparently I'm like a decade behind the curve on this one).

Food: Sandwiches, Ethiopian, Pasta, Sushi, Capri-Sun, Teriyaki

Games: Fallout, Cards against Humanity, Settlers of Catan, Mass Effect, Hotline Miami
The six things I could never do without

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Biology: human physiology, animal behaviorism, ecology.

Space Stuffs: Spaaace! Who would win in a Rigel vs. Deneb supergiant throwdown? (PS- Rigel would, for sure.)

The tragicomedy that is most human social interaction.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
One week it might be drinks at my place with friends, followed by a night on East 6th. Next Friday, it could be our bi-monthly analog game / board game night. The one after that might just be pizza and browsing Wikipedia.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
